  9. Happy Juneteenth!! I’d like to take this opportunity to remember the thousands of white Union soldiers that gave their lives to end the only slavery that ever existed in human history across the American south from 1861-65.

  10. I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the great contributions of the Black community to our society. Their peaceful and generous nature make them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture. Their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. Real estate values are fueled by the mix of African Americans into an area due to their caring and respectful nature of these communities, an example of all they have achieved through their enthusiasm for self-improvement by hard work and a self-reliant can-do nature. Without their industrious and creative drive, we would most undoubtedly be poorer as a nation.

  18. Time off is the only reason I’d celebrate for….Juneteenth is one of the dumbest reasons to celebrate a holiday for black people. So let’s celebrate slaves who worked extra longer than the rest?…🤦🏾‍♂️🙄🙄😂😂…. I would much rather celebrate August of 1831, when white enslavers were brutally killed by slaves in revolt “seeking” their freedom from kidnappers and rapists, not asking for it….👌🏾👍🏾…..Watch, The Birth Of A Nation (2016) for exquisite details!

  20. Junteenth is worthy of a national holiday. It celebrates a singular moment in history when predominantly Republican White Christian men laid down their lives for a completely different race who had been sold by their own people. The men had nothing to gain and everything to lose. This display of self-sacrifice has not been matched and it should be celebrated.
    We should use the holiday to recognize that legal slavery has ended, but illegal slavery continues.
