  1. First of all, they are not all "dirt bikes". Not surprising that the media doesn't know what they are posting. Second, this is third world country behavior and shouldn't be applauded. Grown adults acting like children. What a waste of potential recycled parts to keep other, legal bikes running. Shame on the NYPD for doing it and shame on ABC news for glamorizing it. Pathetic.

  2. Cute publicity stunt by a feckless government wanting to appear to be doing something.

This just drives up price for those of us taxpayers who want or need to purchase these and use them legally.

Those who would use these illegally will be right back at it tomorrow on stolen bikes, driving insurance rates up.

  3. Good photo op. In reality the NYPD watch illegal dirt bikes every hour of the day and do NOTHING to stop them because they're afraid the riders might be carrying guns. The last thing the brave (!) men and women of the NYPD want is to place themselves in danger.

  4. Why destroy ANYTHING of value like that?!?! I loathe politicians like this and their repulsive theatre.
Could’ve donated them or sold them off for charity fundraiser to other states or private parties. Just so wasteful

  5. Wasted money on diesel and hiring people to pick up all the pieces and sort out the trash. A scrap metal place would have paid full weight for scrap metal

  6. Don’t auction them off for charity… just destroy them….
More awful leftist logic. Whoever made that decision needs to have their budget reduced by the estimated value of the bikes that were needlessly destroyed.

  7. Can I just say that that is one of the stupidest moves I've seen a politician making a long flipping time. Don't get me wrong I am not an ATV lover or anything, that's my hubby arena. And after my garage is full of mini bikes I tend to get irritated. But most of the time it's a harmless hobby of his, he rides in the evenings after work and fiddles on the weekends fixing them up and selling them. I know how exhausting it can be to have them roaming around your neighborhood all the time oh, I live in a city and it does tend to drive me insane hearing them late at night. But dude that is a total waste of money oh, he could have sold those out-of-state and given the money to charity are other City programs that are in desperate need of funding!!! I know how hard it is to find old parts for bikes watching my husband putting them together over the years, that was some major crap!! JUST cuz Mr Adams DIDNT like them, doesn't give him the RIGHT to destroy them. If they were seized by the city or state of New York then they should have gone to the proper authorities, and that would not admit that they were property of mr. Adams. Sad cuz I DID like the guy once. Stupid psycho Power Trip

  8. That's it don't sell them and donate the money to schools or homeless shelters lets run them over to make a political statement….what a bunch of idiots that are running NYC.
