Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who tried — unsuccessfully — to use a brick to break into a display case at a jewelry store in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

With high profile jewelry store heists in the media, jewelry store owners probably take special care to ensure that display glass in their stores are reinforced in order to protect their merchandise.
But one must consider why this man would commit such an act without wearing a mask to conceal his identity or weighing whether such an act was profitable, let alone worth risking his freedom and reputation?
In the present day sometimes heist plans are foiled altogether because of reinforced glass like this, it's really all a matter of whether or not the goods can be obtained.
The shopkeeper should have owned a gun.
