What a bunch of fragile egos have this people!!! Reminds me of the time when you are like 14 and you cant take watching your ex with her new boyfriend, I would expect from ancient cultures like china and russia to be a little bit more grownups about life and moving on !! But clearly they are just adult toddles with big guns !
What saddens me is people will see this as the tipping point for China's misbehavior. There xenophobia behavior with its foreign teachers and their own companies that provided education, the issues with the damns and human rights issues are showing a weakening of CCPs hold on the minds. Fear…and that is never a solid place to rally your leadership around. For over 5 years I was quiet so I could serve the children I taught but China's govt. behavior saddens me so greatly and the least among them are suffering. Love is a potent healer…I just wish a little more would shift out of this old pre 80s behavior. We have no more tolerance for bullies in this world and yes I point the finger back home too. We have a lot of growing up still to do too.

Cooler heads must prevail. They have to, and despite the military exercises, they probably will. Because, unlike what happened with Ukraine, I think the United States would actually come into direct conflict with the Chinese should they do anything to Taiwan. The US Military ran simulations of a war with China (Not sure when, but I think it was relatively recently.) All were catastrophic. Think millions dead in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. Okinawa and Guam would likely be targets. So there would obviously be American deaths too. The Chinese also have nuclear weapons with delivery systems that have the actual capability to hit anywhere in the US. The best war is the one that is never fought. But, lets all take a step back and take a breath. China has benefitted from the existing global order. And really, what do they have to gain from taking Taiwan by force? They'll unify China after decades of perceived humiliation. But at an enormous cost, and will likely become a global pariah much like Russia has become. As much as the west and China hates to admit it, they need eachother. And I suspect the Chinese Politburo knows that. Which is why, unlike with what happened with Russia and Ukraine, I truly believe the Chinese and Taiwanese will try to preserve the status quo. I hope people dissect my comment and let me know where I went wrong and where I was right. Just be nice about it because I am quite sensitive.

While brainwashing and isolating 1.452 billion (2020) Chinese people, (their entire country) is impressive, and remarkable it is in no way praiseworthy, nor commendable, and probably shouldn’t be celebrated? Taiwan isn’t the name of anything other than the Island. The Government that governs Taiwan is the Republic of China, and the rightful government of the mainland as well.
