I live in New York City first 5 years of marriage —when I heard the telephone call it was using “New York City jargon” —My husband was a New Yorker so I had to constantly check that does this sentence mean this in reality -said yes, that’s what it means… My best friend’s husband just stopped doing wood and redoing wiry vanishing of hardwood floors in Major Manhattan Buildings after doing Penny Marchell’s floor —because ALL the building superintendents have a racket going on by charging a fee just to go in and do your job for An owner or a tenant in the building —that’s paid to the guy that’s the superintendent —such a racket he couldn’t stand it anymore.. Working for yourself in America doesn’t mean you have to pay someone to get into the building to do your hard labor job… (His wife had a wonderful job as a controller for major corporation )
