22. The economy has only been open since mid 2021 or June. The economy is not adding 'new jobs' it's adding the old jobs that were eliminated due to Covid closures. These jobs still pay minimum wage or a non livable wage (under $22 an hour). The reason why the unemployment number is so low is because people have left the workforce: went back to school, retired, or are collecting social security. Some are choosing to open up their own business and some are choosing not to work all together due to low wages and high prices. The more inflation increases the more people will leave the workforce. Thus, creating open job opportunities. Same thing happened in: Greece, Zimbabwe, and Venezuela. Lots of businesses will close in the future as they are not going to be able to afford the higher wages for employee retention.
