Every time a wild animal hangs around enough to spark the public's interest, if it's enough to get on the news, then the next news you will hear will be about how the animals were euthanized for the convenience of officials and because the public was endangering themselves. Freya was never a threat to humans. She was docile and friendly, that i s why everyone loved her. She was only a threat to the boats of very waelthy people living where she found her best feeding place. Those powerful people are behind the killing of her.
