3. The reference to narwhals brins back memories. When I was in school, now almost 50 years ago, I was ridiculed for believing narwhals existed and sea snakes existed. Narwhals are fascinating animals. Of course, so are snakes, or mosquitoes or any other living entities.
   I think there can be little doubt that Homo sapiens is the least unintelligent animal on this planet, but I am not so sure about not knowing about one's own death. How does one go about to prove such a claim? The closest I have come so far is the observation that many humans also don't seem to know/understand they will be dead one day, and that the process of getting to that stage is likely to be an unpleasant one.

   Well put. New generations have no idea what privileges they have. They are the healthiest, richest generation in history so therefore they don't have to try as hard as older generations just to survive.
