An alligator was spotted taking a leisurely swim through a resident’s backyard after heavy rain and flash flooding in South Carolina.

  2. He looks dead the current is pushing his body or if he was swimming he wouldn't have been forced up against the side of the walkway. He would have kept going forwards up the walkway. Also if you notice his tail is not going back forth like gators swim guiding the path through the water nor is his legs moving. What little movement that he's doing is from the current propelling him along until he is propelled up against the side of the walkway and kept in that position by the current of the water. That is probably why is no more video of him actually swimming up to the gazebo. North climbing over the railing yes Gators can climb a fence.
