For the hurricane you should think about supporting the roll up garage doors. During Irma we didn’t know to support them and the door was blown in and allowed the pressure to rip the roof off our shop.

Is it easy to take panels off the rear wall of the carport? The backing on just 1 side can act like more of a sail and cause more damage/lift than if the winds can pass through.. . Just a thought that may help if easily done
