  1. Ditch the straps and build a lightweight (P…and backwards P…shaped) railing on each side of the platform to act as a handle to lift it and also give swimmers something to grab onto while getting out of the water.

    Love the channel BTW!

  2. I am not an engineer by any means. And I'm sure you've already thought about this, so just curious. why didn't you go with a lift gate design that uses tethered or spring-loaded pegs?

  3. "I've never been on a boat but I am terminally online. Anyway's heres my extremely poor advice:" Literally the comment section of every B is for Build video.

  4. Since you have redesign of the engine compartment, it would be better to extend the fencing thing till the end of the boat (on either side of the engine compartment) to prevent anyone from falling in the water while going to the swim deck.

This might restrict you from laying down on the floor & pulling the swim deck. Maybe you could try adding an inverted 'U' shape hand rail on the swim deck next to the stairs, which could also be used as a handle to assist with moving the swim deck.

  5. I don't want to poo poo your swim platform or dampen your enthusiasm but you should give some thought to how this floating platform will behave in the water. Especially if there is any wave action. I would consider a couple hydraulic engine lifts from a company like CCM. Maybe they will sponsor you. Good luck with your build. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Cheers

  6. You'd be better off with a removable trampoline setup like you'd see on a catamaran. It'd be easy to flip vertical for mooring/storage. Easy to remove for engine maintenance. Far more lightweight.

  7. My biggest concerns would be venting. Making sure those boxes and swim platform don’t trap either raw gas fumes (explosive) or carbon monoxide from running engines (potentially deadly for swimmers).

  8. Might want to re think the whole moving of the swim platform. As someone who boats often there are always going to be unforeseen situations. Like your anchor begins dragging and you have to get everyone out of the water. Now you have this big platform in front of your motors. This is a big boat and things can happen quickly. To me it’s too much do a hydraulic lift. Or leave it stationary and build two sets of ladders that have 5 or 6 steps that fold down off each side of the boat. You can even curve them out a bit to make getting out easier.

  9. This boat is like me building a monstrosity of a house with unlimited money in Sims when I was a kid.

I hope you don't have to trim those motors with the deck on or while turning.
