  1. I have taken to using Supermicro h11ss motherboards with 32 core EPYC CPUs.
Yeah, they are already old news, but that also means cheap.
The CPUs handle ollama about as well an nvidia 2080 GPU.
Like your machine, heaps of PCI & SATA.
They give a lot of computer for the dollar.

  2. Hey Chris how do I get in touch with you for a quote on services I need for my computer and network. I’m having some major security concerns and as I work online it’s causing me a major headache. I’ve been troubleshooting and spending money fighting this for 2 years and am looking for an expert that’s obviously trustworthy at this point. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  3. Hey Chris, i like your WinDebloat tool. You mentioned OpenHab, videos on Openhab would be interesting to see😊.
I use OH, and InfluxDB, lots of devices persisting data every second, i ran into issue of DB querries becoming to heavy for average and sum measurements over 1 day or week, month, with so much data from every second.😅 Any idea for solution on smarter sorting of data?
I have writen basic Autoinstaller for OH4 on Linux, available on Github. Also OH builder for auto config of new MQTT devices is being developed for ESP32 or ESP8266 devices. 😊 Cheers

  4. out of curiosity are u still daily driving thorium? because ive been using brave the past couple years and recently gave floorp a try and its not working out for me

  5. With the mention of the issue of PCIe it reminded me about how when I got my current PC the ASUS ProArt X670E was one of like 2 motherboards with more than 2 PCIe slots for the new 7950, which was important as at the time I was planning to do virtualization and have a Linux and Windows VM. It was a pain troubleshooting and doing it with a thunderbolt 4 dock was just annoying so now I just dualboot. but a full workstation set up probably makes sense for someone trying to be reasonable.

  6. Glad that, even that this channel is focused on technology, you can talk about how these things have made you feel, that maybe not everthing needs to be accomplished and we should focus on the prior things
Also, seeing your career, have you contributed to the Linux Kernel project? I mean, you know so much about computers and OS's and the way you manage Linux it's just hardcore
But maybe i'm mixing shell and programming, even then, still fascinating how much you know about everything, keep the good work! hope one day i can be as pro as you

  7. Last week I rearranged the furniture in the living room, which is where I have the computer, I now have a whole room behind me instead of a wall with a green screen, so I have to build something to fix that later. I have also started to sell all old electronics, because I don't want to have stuff that I don't use in my home anymore.

  8. You need to use the open source Home Assistant for automation. Using anything else would probably be a mistake after you learn and explore Home Assistant. You'll have realized the time you wasted using anything else.

  9. Sometimes the best thing to do is tear everything out and start over. The "psychological garbage" in a space can really depress or annoy someone over time.
