In this video, I take a look at a customer’s 2018 Dodge Challenger with an intermittent SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) warning light. After pulling codes and reviewing scan data and service information, I track down the root cause and fix it—no parts required. A simple repair, but a great reminder that accurate diagnostics save time and money.

  1. Someone probably had an amplifier in the back and did the ol' remote turn on wire wrapped around the ignition fuse terminal trick. Result…..the ol' hot dog down the hallway.

  2. The ole hotdog down a hallway, if ya know, ya know! Oh, I just installed the Banks Pedal Monster on my 24' Toyota Camry SE. It totally changes my car'spedal profile. It totally eliminates the baked in economy settings that the manufacturers have tuned into the car's throttle response. It's actually kind of unbelievable how much differently the vehicle responds when you give it the beans. Just figured that I would mention this here in case someone was on the fence about getting one. Another great video Eric, thanks for showing us the process.

  3. Although I like seeing them, I'm glad you don't get a lot of Challengers in. I run an imported Challenger with the big 6-4 in England as a daily, so I'm kind of on my own with it!

  4. Nice fix. Ya, I hated when I got a vehicle into the shop and found out someone jammed a small screwdriver or other wide part into the receptacle and now it's an intermittent connection. By doing what you did, bending the receptacle in toward the fuse leg it worked. Thanks for the video.

  5. Thank you for constantly reminding us poor people that we get to wait to watch some decent content. It makes me feel so warm inside. And with 977,000 subs and a good business I'm sure you're starving in NY.

  6. The nice easy fix that we all like, nice find Eric. I'm struggling with a '09 v.w golf tsi. roadside assistance had turned it from a miss fire into a crank no start. all good fun.

  7. iam not a auto sparky but i was a lift tech my way of finding intermitant voltage loss was to feed a relay thro its own normally open contacts and have a coil that you can manually set wire in parallel at the point of the circuit you wish to monitor if the power drops off and then comes back on the test relay cannot set,you can put as many test relays at various points in the circuit and it will show exactly where the voltage was lost

  8. I noticed in the video that the plastic of the fuse box looked a little distorted on the pin that had the spread contacts. As if maybe someone jammed something like a test lead in there at some time. Maybe when they were troubleshooting whatever made them change out the relays?

  9. I was waiting on you to cut the key off!
The airbag light on my car cuts on about once per year, on average. I've had this car 10 years now. It cut on a couple or three times yesterday, so maybe I'll be looking into it soon. I hope not, but thank you for making this video!

  10. Nice repair Eric! I thought the vehicle repair group I used to work with were the only ones to use the phrase "throwing a hot dog down the hallway" when they found spread terminals! looks like the saying is more well known than I expected. Cheers.

  11. So many things have to go right for a modern car to perform and function as designed. That wasn't the case all those years ago. And so we have what we have here. Good fix.

    Now it's Toight like Toiger!
