My Friend Brian (vwnut 1967) Blew up his engine to the point of no repair, so I just so happened to have the correct engine that was removed from an estate sale a few months ago. that video is here,
https://youtu.be/-xldv0kGFqo so try and make the best we can out of the two and get his car back on the road.

Nice to see people being kind and helping one another.
Thank you for your videos …sometimes when im feeling very alone and down I can just get lost in your videos and forget about all my worries. And for them few minutes my own reality doesn't exist. Again thanks
Amazing find for the $100 invested!! The Mustie1 hammer works great installing the rear seal. Nice job fine-tuning that bent-up carb and getting the gas pedal to cooperate! Once again -well played.
Hey Brian, Long time. To bad about the motor. Thank goodness for Mustie. Just noticed the top of your hand. I graduated with Platoon 3069 back in 86' Pretty cool my friend.
I like Brian on you're videos nice touch to the truth he tells it like it is cool
If I was young & driving age again. I would get a VW 🪲 bug or Beetle 🞠just to work on the Engine. I understand and enjoy the engine breakdown ( I have an aviation background). It's all about cooling. It's great to have part availability i.e. Cylinders & such. Doesn't hurt to have a pal to lend a hand. Can you still get away with a lower end job , i.e. bearings without line boreing ? Rich S. USAF 81-85
On the tin screws I get them RED HOT with oxy acetylene. they come off.
yea darrin we don the same thing split the nuts when they are rusty.
New engines are $$$$$$ for old vws.
Brian makes a great friend of the channel. It's a pleasure to see you two working together.
Mustie is in his element, playing with vw motors!
Even compression from the first turn, sounded good even when it was only firing on 2 initially. That's a nice engine, good work gentlemen.

I miss bryan lol
I noticed that you skipped over those heater box cables. Man I hated trying to loosen those rusty cables under the car. In high school I had a good friend who was German, his father was a former soldier in WW II and was an old hand on VW's. Learned a lot from him.
If you don't plug the fresh air outlet on the left side you will cook #1 and 3 cyl.
I noticed you both have my Welsh flag flying !
Happy days glad to see brian had a haircut he suits it shorter. That was really good of u to help him out that bettle is a awesome car and thank you for your service brian u are a legend
this is what its all about. keeping them clasics on the road!
LOL that tow rig! Can't imagine the reaction from people seeing Crusty go by with that boat in the back and Beetle in tow! 😆
Brian seems like an entertaining dude to hang out with. 😆
What a wonderful car!
watch the water jackets when your drilling for that bail LOL
Love the VW stuff, Crusty is just the coolest car, awesome that it still gets used and enjoyed. ðŸ‘
Your videos are so educational.
Excellent job, guys! Keeping another classic VW on the road and a daily driver to boot!
Love it when you both are together!
my best friend had a 72 bug he got new. we would load it with beer and nightcrawlers and chase trout all over northern Michigan. lots of good memories of putting down a two track headed to a trout stream with a 12 pack of Stroh's between us. all very bad and illegal now but.. I miss those days.
Just a wee tip for the bolt extension and welding. Best to weld a washer in first then weld the nut to the washer.
I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for both these Gentlemen.
