It’s time to freshen up the New Holland 514 manure spreader! In this video, I remove the wood deck, repair a badly rusted axle and other frame parts, and give the spreader a new coat of paint.

Thank you for sharing.
I’m looking forward to maintaining the equipment I will buy. I’ll need to figure out what my priorities of purchasing will be.
Probably a tractor and a crimp roller. Then a no till drill.
Agian. Thank You. Amazing video🎉🎉🎉
Thank you ! I appreciate you expressing your mental dissertations on why you make certain decisions during the reclamation of these old and worn machines, and the mechanics of getting the project done. . I lived in a different career world, but now that I am retired, I am tinkering in the garage. Your videos are a treasure of knowledge to be gained. Thank you for your thoughtfulness ! Ordered your book. Can hardly wait to read it. Best to You, Hilary, and family
Bought NH 212 at auction unseen for cheap, every bearing was seized. Parts are few and far between or expensive. Had apron and drive shafts made up at the local machine shop….much cheaper to go that route than trying to find a donor or buy the parts from a supplier.
You did a very good job so far and it looks very good but you always do good work and I enjoy watching I would not be very good at those kind of jobs but that’s OK. Keep up the good work God bless.
This was the first video I watched of Just a Few Acres More. After this, Pete's easy going nature won another subscriber and I was hooked.
I have always felt like politics and spreading manure were two very similar things. I do believe that this machine is going to be far more good than any politician
Hey Pete, the different size nuts are what we call ‘heavy’ in industrial maintenance. 3/8â€bolts are 11/16†heavy nuts instead of the standard 9/16â€
Pete I'm following you for awhile now , and nice job you have done with the manure spreader , but i hve only one question , , how you did to get out of the interior of the spreader after you finish to paint it red , hope you and your family have a great holidays
My dad always fine tuned with a hammer as well! Lol
Almost a shame to get poo on it:) almost:)
Almost a shame to get poo on it:) almost:)
Did Hillary say, "why not just slap a piece of metal over the rotten floor!"? 😂
As a child my dad would work on things around the property and would be a miserable pos doing it. Watching you so cheerfully fix things heals a part of me. Thank you
Nice work
Excellent repair and I speak from many years of experience at 80 years of age.
Nice video
Id tape the decals off and paint it
Gearbox beats the old ratcheting system.
The angle of the dangle is inversely proportional to the heat of the meat, provided that the maxis of the axis, and the gravity of the cavity, remain constant.
Had a 155, I think it was, the only bigger piece of crap was what was going in it. Pretty sure the warranty means they'll give you a new piece to put in yourself.
Paint the rest of it. Paint protects and beautifies. Looks great.
Enjoyed the fine tuning with the hammer. Just paint everything. You’ll be glad you did. Can you put painters tape over the decals to save a few pennies? 💙
Good job Pete When you're finished it really Look good So keep the good work up and we'll be watching the Next one So stay safe stay healthy And have a good day
Paint the whole thing, Pete! You already put so much work into it, might as well perfect it right the end. Besides… there's something to be said about being able to claim that you have a great looking manure spreader. :)) And it is. It looks wonderful. 🙂 What a great job! :)) Enjoyed every minute of it.
Hey Pete, You didn't say anything about the lumber for the deck. What I have in mind may be cost prohibitive. But see if a hard wood supplier in your area has " Ipe " Yep that's how it's spelled. It's sold as a low cost alternative to teak. I made some out door furniture for a customer out of it. It's fantastic stuff. Light years ahead of pressure treated pine. It would be ideal. "IF" it's available and affordable.
Where is Ezra?
Paint it all.
Looks awesome
I enjoy all your stuff!!!
I have to be honest I’m disappointed in the sudden change of this channel.
I so much looked forward to the post
But recently there are minimal posts.
Thanks for great video. Totally love watching you work on all the farm equipment.
Can't wait to watch Part 2.
If you have the original owners manual. The warranty is stated on the inside of the front cover. We sold a speader with the manual and the buyer got the new sides.
Good evening Pete. I have "binged" the entire series over the past couple of months. One of your 656 videos caught my attention a few years ago and the house restoration convinced me to start at the beginning and go from there. The content is spot on having grown on up on a small farm in NJ and worked for a neighbor whose fleet was all red to include a 656, M and H. The great thing about binging is that the content just keeps right on going. Now I'm going to have wait for each new video which is all good. The balance of your content between the animals, equipment and business advice is so easy to follow. I'm glad you are being you and not catering to the neah-sayers and so called experts. You be You, you've got a follower for the duration!!
Paint it… paint it all…. You know it will look sooo much better… decals, decals… I sure miss my welder, just saying
Pete, I just love your videos. They are both entertaining and informative. I admire you and Hillary for your stewardship of the land and animals. Thank you and keep the videos coming.
