In this third part of the engine swap series, we install the engine and transmission back into the Hyundai Sonata, hook everything up, and fire it up for the first time. Low and behold—it runs! The motor sounds strong, but the real test will be on the road to see how the transmission shifts and if anything unexpected shows up. Next up: brakes, tires, alignment, and a trip to Wilbert’s U-Pull-It for the rest of the parts.
