My Farmall 656 has a badly leaking rear wheel seal, and possibly a bad wheel bearing. Let’s fix it.

hilariously small bolts for a tractor ;P
I just purchased my first tractor to start doing my own hay because of your videos. I purchased a farmall 656 very similar to yours it just isn’t a hydro. So far I am very happy with my purchase. It will be pulling an international 1190 haybine and some sort of round baler. I look forward to seeing more 656 maintenance videos
You make repairs look SO EASY
I really like all the information im getting kinda know what you're gonna get in to.
🐄🐄🐷🐷 Good Show! … Bruce
Pete, I might have the answer to the “wimpy” loader on your 504. My 504 had a weak spring in the pressure relief valve, it was only making about 1300 psi at dead head. But a few shims later and it makes about 2500 psi, it more than doubled the capacity on the 2001 IH loader. Might be worth looking into.
Might want to check your bucket attachment when you tip the tire onto the bucket it looked like a nut fell off of your loader
that was a lot of tire
Thanks for sharing your day
👍🏻
Make sure you're subscribed everyone! I just finished the video, clicked on the channel logo to go and watch a few more and it said "subscribe"? 🤔 I've been subscribed for awhile, seems YouTube is up to its usual weirdness so make sure it hasn't unsubbed you, whoever reads this. Love the videos Pete!
Loved the video-ins and out of these tractors!
Tearingapartiness or tearingapartinitis: the urge to disassemble and repair machines because they only work for 95% (or finally an afford the downtime) 😂🤣Mostly occurs with people that can't sit still for an hour. I'm suffering from this since I was about 6 years old I think. Nice video to watch.
Love it to see an influencer with the right mechanical knowledge btw. Are you mechanically educated at school or self educated?? Some of the things are pretty inside information and you get it right all of the time I have the impression. I also love to see these old machines been taken apart as it reveils how they worked in the past to tackle all sorts of issues to improve reliability and performance.
Last time I had to change out rear axle bearings/seals was on a late model John Deere B, quite a bit smaller than your 656. Those axle shafts are heavy!
I know what the project list is like! I'm already ready to see the new shop. I'll be tagging along over the winter as usual, soaking up that motivation from your projects to assist in getting mine done 😉
Can’t wait to see all the projects begin! Keep up the great work Pete!!
Cold and mildy, just like the wetter here, in Hamburg in Germany 😐
Pete I was just watching another farming channel called " mouse farm" on their latest video and they showed quite a few video images of your farm and of you and members of you family.
I just wanted to make you aware of this just in case they stole video footage from you. The video in question is titled "Farmers raise millions of wild boars on farms this way – harvesting wild boars".
Great video
Pete's agricultural knowledge is admirable
Thanks Pete!
Good job as always Pete be safe.
I really enjoy your videos Pete. You are so even keeled it’s just relaxing to listen to you go through a project.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dad JOKE: where do sheep get their hair cut? The Ba Ba shop! 😅
Great video Pete don’t stop working on the tractors.
Great content your engineering skills are explained so clearly, thanks Pete.
Thank you for taking your time to explain on your videos I have learned a lot with you videos
Great video! I like that you spend time explaining how things work! I have never worked on an automotive wheel before, so some of your explanations went over my head. Can you help us visualize it more next time?
this was a great video learned a lot too. Granny92.
Great video, Pete! Can't wait to see your other IH tractor jobs ahead!
And again my friend what a great video and learning opportunity for what you do you really know as I’ve said before what you are doing and it’s nice that you’re able to share it to people that are interested to help them doing for them self’s.
Very interesting & informative. you saves many $ by DYI. Best Regards to You & Hillary. ED🚜
I have to do axle seals on my gpas 560 I’m going to get mine done in spring after engine overhaul this winter will be good to see the progress on the adjustment
Hi Pete, grate video as always, I hope you and your family are well and happy, I noticed the jack you were using, I have 4 of those, but I think mine are a little older, but they work so awesome I'll take those over a hydraulic Jack's, my dad used to call them bell Jack's, I guess I'm old school, well bud grate video and educational but I miss your bad jokes, actually jokes are so bad they're good lol 😂, you and your family have a grate day 😊.

Hello sir i am from India🇮🇳
Keep up the good job you and your family and friends do a great show
Thank your
Hi Pete if you give the axle a wiggle the outer cup of the bearing should slide out so you can inspect it and then just slip it back in might be good peace of mind. Thanks Pete love the vids👍
Great stuff Pete enjoy your wrenching
Excited for the new shop and all the cool new videos you will make! So educational!
