You know, right? One thing that has helped me immensely with plastic fuel tanks 3 times that size.. take your AC vacuum pump (even a shop vac will do), seal it off (duct tape openings thoroughly and I do mean thoroughly) draw some vacuum on it.. 15" hg or so should do… it sucks it in enough to get the straps installed easily.. 🤷â€â™‚ï¸ CASE/IH Ag and Construction Equipment Service Tech here..

If I was you, which I'm not, at least I don't think I'm you.
I would have taped a bag inside the tank to catch any debris so there was very little chance of plastic particles getting into the fuel system.
You did it right with the body off the chassis.

For a 2024 3500 starting at 75k. That does not include all the extras and heavy duty items you have added to it. Cheaper doing it in sections and on your own time. You could easily double the cost if you ordered it the way you want from the dealer.

Im rebuilding my 2005 Chevy cateye extended cab long bed…it has 5.3 liter engine rebuilt . It had 300017 thousand miles on the engine when i rebuilt it..engine, now makes 323 horse power and will get 25 mules to the gallon with my upgrades…custom built aluimun flat bed for the back that will never rust with aluminum bed sides that are removable …heavy duty everthing for suspension parts…total build cost 14 thousand 3 hundred 22 dollars and 13 cents..its better then a brand new truck…the truck cost 3200 bucks when i bought it
