after buying this 1980s bobcat skid steer, we found that this engine was no good, then found it was too small, now a toro grounds keeper will give up its parts to save it or will it? lets find out.

  1. I would push this rig up against the wall so you can unhook everything from one side it will make it harder and you will appreciate your effort so much more when you finally get the engine out after 3 times longer than normal!!!!!!!

  2. sounds like a bit of disappointment at the end….some, "oh wells…" and "at least we tried" kind of thing. don't understand why as i never saw or heard any reason why it won't fit. a bit confusing….

  3. I have a customer with the exact same mower, so I'm very familiar with the electrics and mechanicals on it.
Yep, that deck drive belt is a bitch to replace, as well as the entire belt tensionioner bushes and deck driveshaft assembly😁
I'm eagerly waiting for him to realize the 'new' engine is a Mitsubishi, not just a bigger version of the Kabota as he's thinking.
That'll make for some unexpected fun, can't wait!!🤣👍

  4. I drove the "Ride 'em Toro" just like the engine donar back in 1975 working for city park dept. Hydraulic drive and pto is for running mower Blades .. The one I drove had a Renault gas engine … I loved that job ! $1.25 an hour : )

  5. Donor engine is a Mitsubishi, either a K3A or K3C model. Good engines for the most part. Poor parts availability (and expensive) in the U.S. Keep up the good work!

  6. Yeah, it’s a lot of work or you can just go part with some of those greenbacks and buy one already finished which you’ll probably have to work on anyway lol

  7. You are Awesome Mustie, you probably don’t realise just how much enjoyment and knowledge you give to so many people. Some great tips in the comments also. As always thanks for sharing with us all.👍

  8. when you pressure washed it down did you forget to turn up the pressure and did you use any sort of degeresor at all cab lift would have helped you out hers you may need to actually read some comments as you get ideas from them even if you don't like them Cheers can't subscribe to a channel where the one does not read comments

  9. Ah yes, the safety factor of seven. Famously used in all sorts of very reputable vehicles!

Honestly brilliant work, engine swaps are fascinating especially when it's such an odd lateral move between them on a semi-exotic vehicle. Nicely done.
