Back in High School I ended up in possession of a pair of 1968 Honda QA 50's. They were very temperamental. Any engine running that small a carb, and such a small combustion chamber, it's so hard to get it really dialed in. I could tune it to idle nicely, or to go faster. I always just bump started it. The transitions were also extremely rattle like. I would love to still have those bikes now though.
I still remember looking in the showroom window at one of those 50's when I was little Going Whooooah!
Awesome video and collection 👌

DUDE WHEN YOU TOOK OFF THE BOWL THE FIIRST TIME YOU HAD GAS IN IT AND HELD IT UP …I THINK THE BOWL IS CLOUGED BECAUSE THE GAS SHOULD HAVE CAME OUT THE HOSE ON THE BOWL
That Honda trials bike looks cool as hell.. I like your collection Must..
One of my favorite of your videos!
Nice little Honda sounds good
My Honda 50 would turn 36mph when running perfect. A 13 tooth front sprocket or 14 meant the same top speed. An 80 tooth rear sprocket and I could go anywhere.
For some reason this motor has a slight valve noise instead of a solid putt. No telling how many hrs are on her.
That new tank with the Honda Emblem really pops. Good job Darrin.
Great video. About the decals…I've always misted a soapy water solution on the object just before applying decals. this lets you easily make adjustments to the decal. Use a soft squeegee to smooth and remove air bubbles. Let it set for a few minutes then remove the clear film. Love your content and I appreciate all the work you do to produce these videos. Thanks
Just Alil comment love bub

The best bike ever built to this day people. They still using the exact same motor from 1968 to 2024 that tells you lots?!
It's the black widow the most ferd throughout the land!! 😅
They should be studs an acorn nuts
Ever seen a trail 70 in purple
Very rare I have 2 all original an they still run
Both have 3 speed
Look for the mx 50 they had 4 speed with real clutch
We moved to Alaska in 1978 & I got one of these broken down at a garage sale. My dad is a mechanic, got it running, and I was the happiest 8 yr old in the world. This bike was the beginning of me being an adrenaline junkie for life.
honey they shrunk tha bike.
Such great bikes! Any year is awesome. Not the first bike I have ever ridden, (Indian 50) *this was many kids first bike! But I rode so many of these as a kid. (And adult! 🙂 I currently have a tricked out '84.
Sweet
AWESOME VIDEO Mustie…BEAUTIFUL BIKES 👍❤😇🙏
Mustie my old 50 had to have the air breather to run right.
my parents bought me one for my 11 th. birthday. February 2024t it was 50 years old. I sill have it, but it lives in my living room. and it still runs. some childhood memories you can't let go.
That's a deal. Man love to have one of these.
Could be a manufacturing mistake in a pinch out area on metal
Soapy water for applying decals
Just a tip for u when ur trying to clean the carburetor especially the main jet and the air mixture jet try using a guitar string no 1 instead of using spray that's a cheaper then rather than wasting cash for some spray can. If u wanna gush out some air use a air pump instead of spray next time. These carburetors have a screw that needs to be removed for the petrol to flow on the down bowl part of the carburetor if u blow air into that pipe u will not even get a drop or petrol coming out from it. After connecting the carburetor to the bike try releasing the bowl down screw and see if the petrol is flowing correctly….
Can I ask why you dont count the number of turns the air/mix screw is set to before you take it out? Is there not too much pipe from the petcock to the carb? And are you going to fully restore this?
NEXT TIME YOU PUT ON A STICKER
SLIGHTLY SOAPY WATER ON THE SURFACE THEN SQUEEGEE THE STICKER FROM THE CENTER OUT ONCE IT'S SLID INTO PLACE
My dream when I was 10
hey, mustie1, love your shows and how you make repairs with what you have, as i do… wondering if you'd part with this blue honda z50??
Easy Musti
I have a "78 with a similar fuel problem (maybe)
It was in my garage for many years. I got a new fuel tank, carb, and electronic ignition but it just looses power and dies. I'll check the carb feed (sometime ).
It would be fun to ride to the mailbox or to visit a neighbor.
Thank you for the endless hours of watching the Master at "play" 🙂
You need to pass on your skills to some kids!
1974 same year I graduated
I learned to ride a motorcycle back in 79 on one of these.
That thing brought out the kid in him it was super wholesome
Awesome video as always 👍
