this is the 2nd part on this very rough machine. I picked up this Batmobile amusement park ride at a swap meet in NewHampshire . the back story was it had been in a park from Coney island in the late 60s to the mid 70s, then sat outside behind a garage/barn ever since, lets see what happened to it. and can it be saved?

  1. Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?…"
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?

  2. The belt system reminds me of old Chipper designs where you had to buy matched sets of belts, with the 3 belt systems and buying single belts you will always have either one or two that won't tighten evenly. I am just about ready to start a project putting a Suzuki JR50 engine on a Worksman 3 wheeled Bike that has solid rubber tires and drum brakes lol, it with have a springer front end also.

Looking at the color of red that engine is painted I wonder if it came off a old Wheel Horse Tractor.

  3. Put a governor on the engine to run it at max RPM as soon as you touch the throttle. Then add a CVT instead of the centrifugal clutch and put the throttle linkage with a thrust bearing to the CVT to change the ratio via the pedal instead of using the weights on the input. That should give you a bit more oomph out of this little engine. 😛

  4. Thanks for posting Mustie!! Love the longer videos and the relics on this channel. I always learn something new like when you pulled the hub assembly off with the real bearing seal attached so the seal could be reused, great idea!! Thanks again for your knowledge and time in these videos!!

  5. @18:40 Not just lawn mowers, all stuff from Harbor Freight has minimul grease or no grease in spare wheels for wheel barrows, many people don't own a grease gun to fill bearings with grease ports!!!
