  1. I´m disappointed. Going to buy Moto G8 Power instead which is now very cheap. G8 Power is much better with: Full HD+ screen (HD+ on G9), great Stereo speakers (mono on G9), 2xTelelens (not on G9), Ultrawidelens (not on G9), and weight is just under 200 grams.

  2. These phones are for noobs and older people who wants clean software and dosnt want good cameras , good processor , etc.

Pro people will buy Redmi Note 9 and flash Pixel or oxygenos roms + Gcam ( noobs before replying me read this : for flashing roms you does not need to root your device. Even if you root , you can unroot at any time , even you can lock your bootloader back !! )

  3. Well, I have it's official predecessor-the Moto G8 Power, gifted by a friend from the US, whom I befriended on Discord (Moto XT2041) and looking at this G9 Power, except for the battery (6000 mAh with 20w fast charging vs 5000 mAh with 15w fast charging) the Moto G8 Power shines a lot brighter- SD 665, better looks, smaller chin, better display even, and right now, I am on the November Security patch. The only thing I would tell is somewhat on the down side, is the camera autofocus, but then that doesn't matter a lot, since I most of the time use the GCam mod, and the results are stupendous. That's where the camera of the G8 Power absolutely shines. Earlier I used to be on a Nokia 6.1 Plus, and I still miss the more vibrant display the Nokia, a bit. But Nokia isn't getting my money anymore because- 1) overpriced, yet bad service 2) puny batteries. I had to run to the service center a lot of times, because the type-c port kept on malfunctioning, but the Moto absolutely feels like a robust device.

I for one, now just want stock android, firmware updates aren't that much of a deal breaker for me. Personally, instead of going up with the stupid Moto G8 Play, they directly should have got the G8 Power.

Also friendly reminder- those who get phones outside of India, kindly do port your SIMs from Jio to Airtel, because extensive research has led me that despite you having the supported carrier bands for your phone, Jio is no way going to work properly on the phone. I am using Airtel from Jio, and I think I won't go back to Jio- all it takes from them is a small patch, which they won't do, lord knows why, and secondly they will force you to use the Jio4GVoice app, cause my Moto doesn't support VoLTE ( Moto often has 3-4 variants of the same model, targeted for various international markets), which I really know is a huge battery drain.

But, if I am going to purchase phones though, honestly I am going with Moto.

  4. Yes higher res is great n all especially for reading but generally speaking more than 80% of the budget buyers are using mobile data primarily and will never stream anything beyond 720p infact most times use 360-480. So I genuinely don’t get the widespread outrage of keyboard warriors in comment section over a spec list. Just buy what suits you. 🤷🏾‍♂️✌️
