Customer Customer States Mechanic Fails Engine Transmission Gas Diesel off road race 4×4 street car daily driver scam dealership dealer technician how to

The owner of this car likes changing the engine as much as they change the oil
Two screwdrivers on switch. One holding outside while prying inside loose. Glad I am not the only one struggling with those clips.
What about restore and protect from Valvoline?
There should be some hard to read writing on the usb brick. You have to match the voltage and amperage output of the block. Purple color doesn’t give the entire story of what you need.
At what point does a customer need a new oil pump due to the sludge?
Valvoline restore and protect best overall oil on the market today period
Change your oil every 3 to 5 thousand miles with synthetic no matter what anyone including the manufacturer tells you
Another classic hyundai/kia owner.
Oil change?
"I fill it up with new oil everytime I'm out."
Use a Dixie Cup when removing the oil filter!!
My Hyundai dealer says 8,000 miles between oil changes with synthetic oil. I say they're full of sh@t! I go between 4,000 & 5,000 miles, no more. Not going to let dealership tell me what to do with my engine. Been driving 53 years and have never blown up an engine or thrown a rod doing things my way.
Manufacture screwing buyers at 10k oil changes… never listen to manufactures no more than 5k
I have that same engine, the star crossed Theta II engine with 166,000 miles. This video is exactly why I change my oil every 3000 miles with Valvoline Restore and Protect and a factory oil filter. I'm also using Top Tier Detergent Gas to keep the fuel system carbon free.
Bro you made that door job harder than it had to be. You take a flatblade screwdriver or any thin 'wedge' and push it straight down the middle of the outside side clip. Then you get another screwdriver and do the same to the inside one. Then you pull it out. Going back and forth without leaving one side wedged only invites it clipping back in. LOL!
Bro is the clumsiest mechanic, never getting my car there.
Its either 6000 miles or 1 year. People just don't read the OEM Manuel nowadays.
should've put fresh oil in, then add the cleaner then change the oil a 2nd time
I would not be able to work at this shop. The mess he has and the mess he makes has my OCD at 100 right through the screen.
I do equinox heads. Many motors look BAD. Greasy oily sludge from coolant/oil. I just clean clean clean.
they don't do oil changes and then complain about a bad engine or blame the manufacturer, sheesh
You might want to know, the entire armrest comes off the door by removing the rest of those screws. You can then remove the switch panel in a matter of seconds. You spent a tremendous amount of time trying to avoid a simple step.
that switch change is a good example of woulda been faster to disassemble the door panel then to try to undo clips that were never ment to be acessed that way
The dashboard looks like my old 2002 Dodge ram. All cracked up because of the horribly cheap plastics they used.
I work as a lube tech and I see about 3-8 of these every day and I promise these things burn oil like no other and most if not all of the customers will refuse 2 things 1. Any oil that’s not conventional base oil 2. Any thicker oil. They will burn every single drop of oil they have in them and anything that’s left gets turned to sludge.
I feel like 10k miles shouldnt sludge that badly
My Hyundai and Kia 2.4 engines use about 4.5 quarts. That is what I put into them.
This doesn't happen from a single long OCI, this owner has had to be doing this chronically. Doesn't deserve to own a vehicle lol
that door switch is why you buy a toyota kids, replaced mine on my tacoma a couple weeks ago myself in literally 6 minutes
Watching you struggle with the switch reminds me of the airbag on a crown Vic or grand Marquis after the steering shaft falls out. That would be a good topic for public safety
universal coolant = bad idea.
That door was a true pain in the tail! I could never do what you do! Salute!🎉
This was such a needlessly stupid act by the owner….
Not sure why he didn't start the engine to fill oil filter and then check oil on dipstick. He first said "I think this is a 5 quart engine". I was like…. ah, no it is not. Who knows how much oil he actually put in that thing give so much slopped out of it when pouring in funnel. The cherry on the top was when his wife gets in the car and bangs the door in the lift. Geeeezzz 😂🤣
