In todays video I have a look at a 2015 Wrangler that was dropped off from another shop that was having as hard time figuring out why the cooling fans did not work. The fan and TIPM had already been replaced and it still doesn’t work! Let’s see what the issue is.

Shop took the Jeep back and replaced the "new" fan with another new fan and all is well. We made the right call. Remember folks, "new" does not always mean "good."
-Eric O.
PS. I am feeling better now. Just had a few day bout with ol' rona
What if this still happens after I bought a new fan?
That’s why I’m just a parts changer. I heard the fan come on. So I would have said the fan worked. Lol
Your the man 🤙ðŸ½
Clear. Solved my issue. I followed what he showed, with the exception that I just started jeep and allowed it to control fan we just applied power exactly how he demonstrated, clearly showed bad fan module.
If fan was bad, how did you get it to turn on and ramp up and down ?
So quick question why didn't you just unplug the fan and jump 1 wire to the positive battery post and 1 to the negative and vise versa to the fan plug? It should have turned on?
Does anyone know what is inside the module that controls power to the fans. Is it a PNP transistor, MOSFET, or IGBT?
Fixed!!! dam wire was off from the fan after the battery was replaced thank you soon much .
Hi, Awesome video. Currently looking for a handheld Multi meter / oscilloscope. Do you think 50mhz is sufficient enough?
Hi, what do you frequency you recommend for the Oscilloscope?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have been chasing this check engine light code for a year and half now! I put a cheap Amazon fan in when my old one died and couldn’t figure out why the code wouldn’t go out! I got a used Jeep fan off eBay and viola!!! Code went away!!!
Bro. I have a08 wrangler unlimited x wont start after warm up tried everything crank cam starter alternator ignitin switch help any advice, Las vegas lou
I have a 2013 jeep wrangler and my fan only work 40 percent try to put 60 percent and said actuator off any sugestion
Learned a new word "Chinesium"..lol
What is the program used to interrogate the jeep? Is it wytech? I kinda feel that it is critical to have it, so you can go in to the module and command the fan on, to diagnose. I don't really feel comfortable either bridging or unplugging ect sensor, to mimic overheat, and assume the fan is being commanded on. Rather do it thru a scanner.
Don't understand the call you made the fan work with bi direction control so why did you make the call the new fan defective ? Long time viewer
I don't get it since the fan worked. Wouldn't it just be a wire issue or does the fan have a brainbox that is broken so it can only be directly turned on but not controlled?
Do you normally answer people’s questions if they’re stumped on a vehicle if so what’s the best way to contact you.
I had an 02 Liberty I bought used. I lost the fan, so I changed the fan and relay. When the fan still didn't work, I was told it was the computer,so I sold a really good car. Turns out, the guy that bought it put another fan in it and all was well. Especially when he sold it for more than I paid for it!
I was expecting you to say the “â€full beans Ҡwhen you put it to 100%
Love the vid!

This is a good example of how brand new replacement parts can be bad right off the jump. Great work Eric!
Hey Eric! Hope you'll get over that Mexican beer soon LOL. Both I and my wife got it over Christmas, nothing else to do, I guess!
