In the previous video we traced down a really neat problem happening with this Chevy. Voltage leaking through the insulation skewing the O2 readings. At least I thought it was pretty neat. Now it is time to get this baby fixed!

Great work
Your the bestâ¤â¤â¤
Do I hear a bad diode in the alternator?
Just to screw with mechanics!!! That is what manufacturers do!!
A year later, that 2500 is probably at Wilbert's by now.
outstanding as usual
Great video enjoy watching your diagnostics, you really go above and beyond for your customers great job stay safe and God Bless
Great repair and diagnostic. You are the man, Eric.
I'm confused by the it's "a 2500 it exempt from NYS emissions…:" statement. Is it the trucks age or the weight?
Just curious 🤔
Very good Eric very good you made the lady happy you made the truck happy you just a happy making person thanks for the video
What blows this native Coloradoan away is that east coast rust. Oh my goodness. My daily drivers (depends on weather) are a 1971 CJ 5 (odd fire), 2006 Montana and 2001 2500hd. All Western cars. If you scraped all the rust off them (top and underside) you wouldn't have 1/2 the rust on one kuckle of the one in this video.
Wish we had a Wilberts that had 90 era cars !
Ahoy Matey!
Dang it listening to that engine makes me miss my 1500 with a 5.3L that got totaled a few years back by a texting and driving moron. Had it tuned perfectly too! ðŸ˜
Polishing a poo.
Why does a connector have to match? Replace both ends.
Nothing rusts like a Chevy truck.
The Rust on these vehicles is incredible.
Wilbert's is one fine auto wrecker.
If anyone can help, I'm having trouble with my 04 avalanche no forward or reverse in any of the drive selections like the t case is in neutral, I've replaced everything including the t case still no luck any help would be appreciated
WOW… In my 40+ years as an auto electrical guy, I have not ran across induction through insulation !! Of course I dont have near the calcium chloride coating amounts you have up there… I HATE CC !!
Wilbert's junkyard keeps the rats away. But they get into the vehicles that Eric works on every day.
Eric….most of us in the know believe you.
I need to see more episodes where you get out the brake cleaner, flash it in front of the camera, followed by the dramatic "tada" music.
Thank you for your videos! I have a question. Which option on the scan tool gives you oem data? And generic data? Thank you!
When u were at the junk yard and u said vehicle dont seem to last long here, one big reason is with the EPA law they are no longer can keep junk cars and truck for 3 month, after 3 month they have to be crush and the recycling area, make sense since i was a kid going to junk yard they were cars pile and pile ,of trash , animals make home there ,mice, rats , possum and all kinds of crap, junk yard are a lot cleaner now and more organize, and Green new deal safe and clean!!
Had a 2001ish 2500 silverado I bought from a dealer auction some years back when I still had my dealer license. It would randomly have no power, had no codes and would only do it for 15 seconds or so randomly and if it stalled it started and ran perfectly. Had all my testing equipment hooked up for the 15 seconds it would run like crap once in a while. Ended up being both upstream o2 sensors which was weird because when I tested them by making a vacuum leak then adding propane they worked perfectly but when I went to change them they both were cracked and rattled around so they would short out. I ended up sending back through the auction and the dealer that ran it through the auction when I bought it came up to me saying I guess u gave up on it lol I said no just needed 02 sensors! He said it was at a bunch of shops and the dealer who couldn’t figure it out and also the customer traded it in because he also had a few shops look at it and nobody could figure it out.
