I am getting exhausted with the flex puns on this one but it’s time to flex some creativity and save this lady some money on replacing the front pipe. At any rate come along as I swap out a broken flex pipe on a 2019 Ford Flex.
-Enjoy!

I am more concerned with 4 year old Flex needing this flex section replaced! My is just is just failing, after 13 years, in rust belt!
The video was very clear and very specific. Congratulations
Youre a beauty bud great job
Now I want a pipe expander
Thank you for posting this. Can you point out or reply back as to where the catalytic converter is on that exhaust system or more so for that particular vehicle.
If you soak those flex pipes in some oil before you install them, they'll never rust out 😉
The Flex only came with a 3.5, an NA version and an Ecoboost.
Just use muffler cercemt or the muffler bandage LOL
yeah
You sure you don't have an iron workers union card? Actually welding pipe is hard because of it being round and the smaller the pipe the harder it is . Add to that where the pipe is and you did great. Or at least good enough for welds that will probably only ever be seen by you. The next time the car is on the lift you'll look at your work and think, damn I'm good .
We're did you get the flex pipe from and what is the lenght and diameter please and thank you
Very good job, Eric. Very nice weld, I'm sure it'll hold up in space.
That’s a damn good job. It’s neat , clean and looks air tight. My only comment is that I hope you would consider getting coverings for your arms just so you can protect yourself a little better, but otherwise I would be very happy to have that work done on my car.
Eric,
When you're arc welding what settings do you use and what and what arc welder do you use.
You have probably heard this question before but I would like to hear it again.
Thank you in advance.
Hey Eric, that was some decent welding there! Nice job! ðŸ‘ðŸ¼
That dull blade reminds me of working in the muffler shop.
Next up are mail order headers that won't fit?
I’ve been welding high pressure pipe and welding platforms offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and I think you’re a very good welder so don’t knock your skills. You’re the man
Don't they use cutting torches to remove those pipes?
those aftermarket cheap o flex pipes last about 2 years
good job E
Another first! I've never seen a drive shaft and exhaust follow the same path. Thanks Eric!
What time should I drop off my 2013 Flex?
Nice to see that performance 2 1/2"flare at the tail pipe. THAT was the Cool part !! Gonna let Elon Mush of your welding skills too. You could be going to the moon !
Cool video. I enjoy the videos you put on here. Thank you. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Nice weld, that 12 o’clock position is always difficult to get a smooth bead on.
Does the light make a difference for welding or is it for the video only?
Awesome that you actually try to save the customer some expense….very nicely done
Hey Eric
They make a blade with encrusted with carbide grit called the torch. Not sure what brand but wow they cut good
I changed the whole exhaust downstream of the cat. I painted it with high temperature paint and after 4 years it still looks ok.
The bacon was a fryin !!
Your weld settings sounded perfect!
Omg your comments are hilarious! “Straight to the moon , Alice!â€
I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express recently so will not be able to provide any commentary on this job!!
nice welding job Eric
Having lived up north until I was around 21, I really don’t miss all that rust and having my car rot apart in front of me. I can’t believe a 2019 looks that bad. I have a 2017 Camaro SS and it still looks brand new underneath and all around. I guess it’s another nice thing about living in the south, especially if you have an expensive vehicle
Eric O. Must have asbestos arms or something! Sure as eggs are eggs, I'd be covered in burns trying to MIG up an exuaust up overhead light that! 😮 It's only really my hands and fingers that are asbestos, I inherited that from my granny – she was a cook and could pull a tray out of an oven without oven gloves! My arms however? Made of some thin flammable plastic material 😂😂😂
Having grow up in Midwest and being a mechanic I don’t miss the rust . Moved to west coast in 1976 and the couldn’t believe how long vehicles live rust free. Great vids and long live the automotive repair professionals.
