i have worked on buying this abandoned truck for about a year. after asking if he wanted to clear snow around it again this year, we came to a price that was fair to the both of us. lets load it up on the trailer and see what we got.

  1. Numbers not matching from engine to vehicle isn't exactly uncommon. People swapped that stuff all the time. Especially on fords since they broke down so much. People were just trying to keep em alive.

  2. Wow that Econoline looks exactly like the one I used to have. Three on the tree rules! They're fun little trucks but hideously dangerous. You feel like your sitting right on the road with a battery bomb behind your seat and a hot stinking engine burning your leg.

  3. Dodge made a truck like this… Chevy made one (actually, it was the Corvair). Kinda cool to ride in, sometimes a bit spooky to drive because you're sitting out over the front axle.

  4. The truck is in remarkably good shape for its age. I think it's an outstanding find. I cant wait to see it restored to it's former glory. Thanks for the OUTSTANDING videos.

  5. Nice to hear your do things legitimately, I kind of figured you did, that is the only way to roll budd. The only way, when we role the other way, someone pays, one way or the other and I wouldn't want someone to basically screw me, so in return I try my best not to do that to others, it never pays off. As the big book says, what a man sows, he will also reap and that is a fact Jack. If you plan on fixing that up! right, it's going to be a sweet little ride. Ford Straight Six 170 105 hp nice little truck! I owned ford f100's with straight six with three on the column loved the little truck. I know my 63 had a straight v 6 don't recal the exact horse power.

  6. my uncle bob had a truck that looked exactly like that! he lived in marinette/menominee mi man wouldn't it be something if it was traced back to him. it just looks so much like it

  7. lol, I love this style of old mid engine pickups where the crumple zone is your face and the air bag is your stomach- It makes you drive carefully and thankful they haven't got many horses. 🙂 good vid, thanks.

  8. I had a 1962 and a 1964 Econoline window van. Good fun and very agriculture as far as comfort goes. The heater worked well and you could always just lift the engine cover up at stops in winter.

  9. Good call on the funky VIN Mustang! I like having a receipt for everything I possess. Cut and dry! No mess! And I have no qualms or hesitation to ratting out any criminal enterprise!

  10. Here in Australia we had these same motors and continued to up size them till they got to 250 CI and for higher performance you could get what they called the 2V head which had the separate inlet manifold so you could use almost any carby setup on them the end of these engines were when they went to crossflow engines in aluminum and the final 250CI was called a BARRA which is the best engines and are available with 3 types the straight injection model the turbo and injection one and a special LPG model which is similar to the turbo one but has heavier rods and pistons and they all go like stink

  11. I used to have a 64 Econoline, and drive a 66 Falcon. That thing never came with a truck engine. It would never fit. The 200 looks the same as that 170 and is 120 HP, but I don't think it existed until 66. That's what my Falcon has. Just be glad you didn't get the earlier engine. I think it was only a 144. BTW, Ford knew it had a light rear end. There is a huge slab of steel hidden above the fuel tank to give the back some weight, Still not enough. Even in the summer you need good tires. Park it for the winter.
