The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 720G while the Redmi Note 8 Pro runs on the Mediatek Helio G90T. As for the storage and RAM, the Redmi Note 9 Pro only has two options – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. On the flip side, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is kitted out with 6GB RAM with 64 or 128GB of storage or 8GB RAM with 128 or 256GB of internal storage. The memory is expandable via a MicroSD card on both of these smartphones but the Redmi Note 9 Pro gets a dedicated slot while the Redmi Note 8 Pro has to deal with a hybrid sim slot.
On the software front, both phones are running on MIUI 11.
