In this video I replace the intermediate pipe, muffler and tail pipe on a customers 2007 Dodge Dakota with the big 4.7 and show some of the frustrations you run into using aftermarket pipes and even throw out a free tip Friday at the end.

What brand is this exhaust and where to buy? I need one affordable
Should you weld the clamped areas together, or is it ok just to leave them clamped together? Trying to rebuild mine on my 05 dodge Dakota!
Does it not look like the resonator/muffler looks like it will get whacked the first big bump the rear axle goes over? Not quite finished the video yet…..
Thanks for the hole tip. You're the best.
Thank you for the lesson on the drain holes. I’m gonna have to look under my vehicles now to see if they have them.
Eric, what's your dream car. Or, if you saved up to buy your favorite car, what would it be?

Is there anyway to treat exhaust pipes, fasteners and mufflers? Possible to get em nice and hot and burn some type of oil as sort of a chemical treatment against corrosion? Wishful thinking over here in the NE…
My old 2000 Durango has the original exhaust and no rust, of course it has never been in the salt and rust belt or driven in snow.
Great job
Why use a saw, when I can play with fire and torch metal objects? 🤔
Great job Eric makes it look easy. Every time I do any work on an exhaust system I swear it is going to be the last time and then….
I have had 2 aftermarket exhausts on our '98 Grand Cherokee and both rattled where the tail pipe goes over the track bar. The original didn't do this so I could tell the aftermarket systems didn't fit as well. I finally solved this annoying issue by adding an aftermarket exhaust hanger to lift the system up just enough to keep it from hitting the track bar. Finally no rattles!
Speaking of the Jeep world, do you still have your Jeep Cherokee?
I live in Florida I own a 2002 TJ the frame is factory paint still. What I see on this channel is road salt sin.
Respect for the hours watching loading bars on your screen. ðŸº
I love to use the torch. But, for some reason I prefer to cut and grind. Don't know why…
In our neck of the woods we weld not clamp…
I was going to say, an 07 that clean? Didn't have to take Big Nasty and hit it to keep from debris from falling in your eyeballs! Did Josh lose his Americas Most Eligible Bachelor status? Too bad they are paper thin, not sure if all the aftermarket pipes fit that easy but looks like that one did!
Exhaust yourself lmfao I wish he was my mechanic teacher.
I always get nervous using a torch mear a fuel tank
13:49 Snow tires!! I put a set on my 4×4 XJ Cherokee, makes a world of difference. Got mine on a second set of wheels I got the on the Craigslist a few years back.
You look like such an absolute gangsta tossing that exhaust pipe with your torch goggles on lmao
Last night, I had a nightmare about mufflers. I woke up exhausted.
We can't do pee holes here in the Netherlands, the exhaust needs to be airtight all the way to the tip.
This job was easy because they still make the custom muffler parts for that vehicle. One of my old cars…they don't make the parts anymore.
Best video title. Ever.
So many times I watch your vids and often I see something before you point it out then I get ready to comment on it. Just like drilling the "pee hole" in the resonator. 99/100 times you get to fixing it in the video. Note to self: Always watch SMAR videos through to the end before commenting… also read the comments before commenting.
