Our herd of Dexter cattle should be out munching on their pasture, but instead they have been eating hay for the past 2 weeks. It’s been very dry all summer, and grass growth has stopped. Now the cattle are eating up our winter hay reserves, and we’re having to buy hay to keep them fed.
