How do i get to the second video?
How long did it take from starting unbolting everything to getting the transmission in engine lowered
Really long journey to change the transmission 😮
Thank you! Pulling my first care motor at the age of 20 in my patriot, this video helped so much
Just pulled one of these out td. Didn’t pull motor tho. Feel like it’s easier not to.
Is that a renegade
so much time and effort car companies put into making a cvt with a metal belt, when ive had atvs and snowmobiles with FOURTY hard years on the original rubber belt
Where do you order a new transmission from
Have you worked on a manual transmission of the compass? I have the 2010 but I think the transmission is the same up until after 2017. From what I've read in forums, the transmission is a constant issue along with the TIPM. I would love to see the transmission torn down to see the problems (carnage) inside.
I know Ray doesn't discuss his charges, costs for remanufactured transmission. I would love to know the $ details that made this course of action seem the best choice. The reman trans must be at least 5-6 K (just a guess) before any cost for removing the old trans and installation of the new one. Did the owner drive 100,000 miles plus without ever changing the trans fluid? What killed the trans? Best guess?
I'm genuinely curious the outcome of this service. The transmission you show and replaced is the hyundai 6f24 which is not a cvt transmission. You know this by the torque converter you installed but yet you classify it as a cvt in the video and also filled it with cvt fluid. From my understanding running cvt fluid in a non cvt transmission will cause significant damage and with that being a brand new reman that wouldnt be ideal.
weird. the same model years 2.0l 2wd jeeps don't need the motor dropped.
Cvt transmitions nothing but trouble and when they do go good it’s only for few years before they break I’d rather a 9 ten or 8 speed to keep in the engine powerband nothing but trouble
I hope he’s given part for payment on a big job your undertaking
Y pull the engine out no need to
The original cvt transmission failed because it was made by jatco. Why would you spend 2500 on a remanufactured jatco cvt to put in a vehicle with 100k on the ticker? Wow.
Nope.
I hate what Detroit did to cars over the years.
i will probably do this operation soon my sister's car need a change of the clutch :/
Ya weepy bolt 🤣🤣🤣👌ðŸ»
On my first vehicle, this would have been a 5 minute job. Spray a couple cans of rust remover in the engine bay and the whole engine would have dropped right out. On the flip side, it would have removed the front half of the car permanently, except maybe the dashboard, steering wheel and rubber floor mats.
Thanks for this vid! CVT's are trash it seems like.
That must be a JATCO transmission
Play way way way way way way more work than what was needed.
I've done many (more than 10) transmissions in patriot / compass and never once dropped the drivetrain. They are one of the easiest AWD transmission to change.
So….What did this end up costing?? Probably $2500 to 3000.00 for the Reman transmission plus 24 Hours Labor/Shop time @ $100.00 / Hour, plus Sundry Items for Re-Assembly and Hazardous Waste Disposal….Hmmm, We're look'n at a $5500.00 job here folks…Although, cheaper than a new rod, 'n ya know what 'ya got in the end…..I'd say, yeah, Worth it….Especially if 'ya got someone like Ray work'n on 'yer vehicle….
Removing Rear Drive Shaft: Let's git our nuts off….LoL
Jeesus, Mary 'n Joseph….To replace transmission, Disassemble vehicle…Meh For a 2016, the body and engine bay are very clean, even the chassis was amazingly clean…Most people don't take care of their rods like that. Seems interesting that the trans totally failed @ 105,000 Miles, but I've heard not too many good things about those Slush Boxes. I have a 2006 Ford Escape V6 4×4 with a 3 inch Lift kit 'n 265 70 R16 Tires for an everyday driver…The clock reads 156, 500 miles 'n the trans works perfectly…..But, I 100% replace the trans oil every 50K miles….
Only 105k miles and the trans is already bad. The auto manufacturers sure don't make a quality vehicle anymore.
I will never own a vehicle with a CVT transmission.
Praise the Lord, it's not a 3.6L
The most crap design of vehicle I've ever seen.
