Last night our first Dexter calf of the season was born! Life is popping up (and popping out) all over the farm. I introduce you to our new calf, as well as our new piglets and chicks. I also give some information on what to expect regarding Dexter calving and the calf’s first days of life, some issues we’ve had with our sows’ mothering abilities and their piglets, and some tough decisions we’re facing regarding pasturing both the cattle and broilers.
