In this video I bring you along as I block off the leaking rear A/C lines on a 2005 Cadillac Escalade. It is a kit I bought off Amazon and it fit and functioned perfectly.

Just so I'm clear. This is a winter beater. The rear lines are complete garbage underneath the vehicle. That is why I never cap them off or cover them up. If somebody wants to go back they would have to replace the rear lines and evaporator so there is no sense in doing anything to prevent dirt from getting in the old ones. Just thought I'd clear that up 👍

  2. Is this pretty much the same process on other GM vehicles, specifically an 04 Trailblazer? I have a leak and the UV dye is telling me it’s in one of the lines going to the rear that’s wrapped in some kind of insulation wrap

  3. Been doing a/c work since 1976 done it all , 400 ton chillers to 5000 btu window units, auto a/c to Freightliner trucks good job i think that the price for two good block offs is crazy expensive but on the other hand you saved the owner a bundle by not replacing the a/c lines to the back unit, way to go 🤠

  4. I realize that all dealers tend to do this to their customers because the person selling you the work is on commission so they sell everything they can all the time even if it doesn’t need it
I don’t trust dealers until they change that model of business

  5. Every time I view your channel I learn tons. I'm retired so I'll probably never get to apply any of this knowledge. But thanks anyway for the many many hours of viewing. D Thurston

  6. Could you do something video or something on a like a 2003 X3 BMW where the sunroof they said there's a module or something up front that stops all your key fobs from working seems like everything and the door locks the door lock will not unlock with the key in the stick key or electronically and someone said it it's the sunroof that causes the problem but be nice to have someone who has seen something like that and check it out before we go and put up they want like like $1,500 to check it out and if it has to be replaced it says somewhere near another 3,000

  7. Hi, I have a Chevy Tahoe 2015 that I need block off cap for the rear AC high/low pressure. Can you provide a link or part number for this I keep finding for 2014

    Thanks!

  8. Eric
What the best course of action when the line is stuck on and won’t come off?
I’m trying to do this bypass but the rear high press line is super stuck

  9. Eric do they give you the block off kit for the old line to keep all the junk out of the old lines or do you just have to tape it up , please let us know in the comments .

  10. to anyone in the uk it is illegal to ope separte parts of regas an air con system unless your licensed to handle ( take heed the fines are heavy refrigerant

  11. I didn't know these were a thing. My 2014 Tahoe the rear a/c line has some tiny holes in it and the line it's self is about $1,800 and not including any labor. Awesome I can get some a/c back in my Tahoe.
