In this video, I go over why I stopped using Windows and list 8 major reasons. I have been a windows user since Windows 3.11 and have used every version between then and now.

Debloat Your Windows 10:

1. Windows Updates – As a system admin having the computer force updates on my users makes me rage. I set the GPO and Off-Times, however it still finds a way to update at inconvenient times.
2. Windows Store – Microsoft store is horrid! It’s the worst implementation of forced bloatware and a bold cash grab that just spits in our faces. Windows 8 should of taught Microsoft, but no, it had to continue in Windows 10.
3. Notification Bar – It sucks… its worthless, and overall just pointless.
4. Security Center – This technically started in Windows 7, but has carried on and just become more bloated. I want to pick my Anti-Virus, and choose my firewall settings.
5. Removal of Safe mode on boot – WTF!? I have to boot into Windows hold shift and reboot to get to safe mode? Really!?! Microsoft go home you are drunk!
6. Security – This could be a video in of itself, Major security issues this past year like the Windows Share exploit from the leaked NSA tools. I am still upset at Microsoft for wasting my weekends patching this.
7. Bi-Annual System Upgrades – Why!? just Why!? October update anyone?
8. File Sharing sucks in Windows – Ugh $C and the permissions just make me want to rage

There is so much I wanted to add to this video, but I could have made this an hour easily. Here are topics I left out that I would have added:
    1. Edge Browser
    2. Telemetry
    3. Network and Sharing Center
    4. Cortana
    5. Suggested Apps
Hell, I'm going to make another video… Microsoft, if you see this… Really I shouldn't have this much crap to complain about.

  2. Hey Chris, thumbs up on all your videos, but happened with the audio on this one? I just could not watch past #4 Security Center. It was like watching one video and listening to another. I saw nobody else commented on this, so is it my machine or windows or is this really an updated or out of sync audio track?

  3. Well, to be real, Windows had gone downhill in the same way population and general culture since 90's; it's exactly the same as many other things like music just to address one. You can't expect Windows (a human interface) goes up when all the rest goes down, in other words Windows didn't fell actually it just accompanied the last three decades of social "evolving".

  4. its totally true that windows system is getting worse and worse, win 7 is good and ok, starting from win 10, its horrible. But sometimes we may need to stick using windows because we don't know other systems, I have been using windows since Dos and win3.1 and I don't know linux. That is why I am still using win 7.

  5. Used Windows since 3.0 on a 386, used DOS before it became MS-DOS. Man, those were the days. How far we've come, and how downhill Windows has gone. I've used Linux on a small level, like now it's used on my Plex Media Server. But I've never used it as a serious OS or daily driver. but I think this year, I'm going to start really learning it. I'm gonna keep W10 for the apps that have to have it, then Linux for everything else. That's the goal. And I agree with the points you made, Windows has gotten to be a real pain to use anymore.

  6. Linux user's are spoilt for choice, kids in a sweet shop, we made that break, freedom! next step we are calling operating systems Distros! so many which shall i download, i hopped here and hopped there, it kept me busy on lockdown, i'm using Mint at the moment, i like minty chocolate, so if someone bought out a distro called minty chocolate i'm in, goodbye Mint lol

  7. My no1 is the EULA. Read it and contemplate what it really says. Your data isn't really yours anymore when it's stored on a Windows machine.

  8. Cold some one tell me y it seams like I haft to reformat my c drive every 9 mouth or so . Things get wired slow what ever . I run a beast 5900x 3070ti 32ram nvme all that stuff I don't go to wird sites or download boot Lang. I'm not saying it stops work it just works better with a fresh install. I'm not the only one two of my friends have the same problem. My friend was Like o ya some time u just got to fresh install. Drives me crazy . All my important stuff is on other drives . But I just can't get around windows. Y is it so unstable.

  9. I honestly regret updating to Windows 10. It seemed to have so much potential with app store and new features but those damn updates and using disk space drove me mad.

  10. Yess
    Why you have remove safemode
your update screwed, machine now keep throwing me only blue screen error and reboot
Even after soooo many reboots, either it goes straight to blue screen or attempting to auto repair and bluescreen and reboot 😡
    why why

  11. We just slowly got sucked into the Windows maze, I often thought that it must be much more difficult for newbies these days. Happily my slightly ancient PC wasn't Windows 11 compatible, otherwise I might have updated to that.
Updates: YES. My PC just slowed down like crazy and unless I actually checked I sometimes didn't realise that an update was happening.
    Linux is a delight.
