This looks like my first dirt bikes bigger cousin. My first dirt bike was an all original silver 1974 Honda XR 75. Only had about 100 hours give or take on it.
I learned a lot just now. I have been seeing TRIALS when I thought auto correct may be giving you that instead of TRAILS. I’ve seen the rebuild of the carb in this one but I admire how you do the work then redo it, then put on a drill to crank it! Wish I had your patience.
hi everyone, i just picked up a TL 250 1975 mod, in the process of pulling it down to frame and cleaning and painting , i need a crankcase cover, unfortunately mine has been cracked and repaired with araldite "didnt work " still leaks oil, keen to see if anyone has a spare or knows of anyone with with one . cheers Paul
Love is all you need… Also a carb cleaning/rebuild…Maybe some new tires… Hmmm
It will befun when it's done!
Speaking of the Jawa, when is the update video?
I'm not even a bike guy but I enjoy your videos tho on them for some reason lol
Had a question do u fix things if a subscriber like myself send u something
I grew up riding the woods in Texas. Honed my skills in an Enduro Trials style. Decided to ride trials because Motocross was too insane for me. I liked the old style Cross Country Enduro Racing better. These bikes were fantastic for their time.
That bike looks like it could really haul ass in its day.
Looking fwd for this one 🙂
When will we be seeing a video on this bike?
Great look forward to it
I don't even think Honda makes trials anymore
Lol, so funny. It is pronounced "yawa", because the first two letters of the brand is from name of the founder – JaneÄek ("yaneczek") 😀 The -WA is by the way abbreviation of the first engine used, it was called Wanderer.
Sweet trails bike
YAY !! … MOTOR BIKES !!
Loving the bike video's Wordings over the pond make me chuckle , triple tree's, fenders, rotor, jug . Yokes , mudguards, disc , and barrel to us . Keep em coming sir
I cant wait for this restoration
That machine is well worth your best effort. It is not only a classic, but was the start of a new era in Trials. When Honda came out with that, just about all the known trials bikes were not only two stroke but they were seldom more than 125 cc's. I was at an expo in 1976 in Charlotte NC when Honda was making a big push to promote those first editions. They brought in Sammy Miller (multiple time world champion at trials) to show off the new Hondas. I stood in awe as he rode one of the TL 250s up a near vertical bank, stopped about half way up, killed the engine and presented a talk to the gathered crowd, then restarted the bike and drove off without ever putting a foot down or slipping back to the bottom. Even with the extreme capabilities demonstrated today in Trials Competition, I don't believe I've ever seen anything more impressive done with a motorcycle. Oh Yeah, it didn't have electric start, he had to kick it to restart.
The Honda TL250 are like "hens teeth" here in the UK. I used to have one growing up the 70's would love to get my hands on one again.
I cant wait to see Mustie get into this one. If anyone can get this thing straighten out it's our ace!
It's a rock climber, they were big out here in the N.W. when I was a teenager in the 70's.
bahaha I love catching the refrences "youtube no like that kine"
I have a few of those tl /xl 4 valve engine's laying around
needs more then love mustie 1 needs money and a gentle hand stroke it gently
Do you worry about finding reasonably priced parts for older, rarer, bikes like this — especially with a locked up engine?
Beautiful bike.complimenti!!!! Ciao da Italia
Been a new sub for about a year now, I really like your videos. Your very detailed and I have learned a lot. It's not related to this project I have a Stihl weed eater model FS55R and it has a real hard pull and I have asked many YouTubers that work on this stuff with no responses so I thought I would ask you, any ideas? I meant add I am looking forward to seeing you work on that Cushman,
OK, got to admit I was a bit disappointed not to see more of this bike at this time but I understand you need to build a stock for winter projects but, even so, at 3min 19 it was all a bit brief….
Will It run?!
if you needs some wired parts, let me no (lol) there's a big bike junk yard by me, they mite have some rare parts that you can't find 🙂
Looking forward to see if you can bring the engine back to life.
I miss my old 250 . Memory lane .
Bark!
I sure look forward to this one. I sure wanted one when they came out. peace
good luck with it
Friend of mine had a 74 Enduro, I believe, it was 1/2 dirt 1/2 street bike, it was a 250 Honda, ran great
Love u pal, please don't mention winter, I'm still paying off last Christmas
What could possibly be the end result? Unless you don't mind losing money on a project I don't see any upside to touching this.
@Mustie1 I want to see more of your Beaver!! 😉
I cannot wait to see you work on this bike. I would love to get my hands on one of these
Modern Trials bikes are HALF the size of that thing. I had a 1976 Yamaha 125 Trials that had a much lower center of gravity. Mustie I have one concern. Those wheels and tires seem kind of small for a Trials bike….(could just be the video or my eyes)..
nice bike very hard to come acrost good luck with it
For those who don't know about trials riding, here's some examples. It's usually a timed course in competition, but the main thing is that there's a penalty for every time you put a foot down, so it's all done on two wheels. Or one. But that's it.
