  1. That's why in Europe, the rules mean there is safety equipment between the wheels to prevent anyone doing that. The trailers all have big steel bars to stop other vehicles going underneath them, sides and rear.
It's such ashame that the US government don't look more to Europe to understand and learn how to make things better out there.

  2. Thanks, man I was on my way to take mine to the dealership tomorrow for low oil pressure. I'll get the oil changed, and hopefully, the pressure stays up. Thanks again.

  3. I've got an idea for you @RainmanRaysRepairs… mount a dirt cheap used 40" LCD television above your storage shelves (in front of the main lift) and have it display whichever security camera is covering the garage entrance area. Just some extra insurance against running over any wayward child (especially when operating some of these older vehicles without reverse cameras).

  4. Ray maybe not this repair, but nearly all jobs seem to have bad access to bolts etc, do you ever try telling manufacturers that they should make access for terrible access situations via doors under the carpet or is that changing one problem for another

  5. I have a 2004 GMC Sierra w/ 5.3 and just slightly more miles at 118k and honestly the only problems I've faced while owning this truck have been the common issues. I haven't had the oil pressure one but it typically leads to the o-ring on the oil pickup tube, could also be a faulty gauge/sending unit or the oil filter itself. The speedometer stopped working on mine just outside of the warranty period that GM had extended it, I found a guy online that replaced all of the stepper motors, however I read online that if I would've went with GM they most likely would've only replaced the one that failed. These LS engines evidently can be problematic with the oil filter and is recommended to use OEM which I mostly use the PF46 which is now the PF46E, I've also used Purolator Pure One filters but currently using a Fram Ultra and plan on filter changes every other change as shown when dealing with the filter on an LS is kindof a pain.

Other issues I've had are the knock sensors, I haven't replaced them yet so I've been running it as is, others include the diverter valve on the passenger side, it wouldn't close so it would allow heat to flow through all the time, mine has the same setup as this vehicle with the sliding controls, another problem I've had was an evap code that had something to do with the wiring back at the tank. I tried replacing the hose and installed new clamps, also new gas cap, I ended up having my local shop repair it but wasn't expensive.

Really the worst about my truck is the driver side rocker panel is starting to rust through, mine has faired a lot better than most of the ones I've seen in my area, typically they rusted through and also the bed over the rear wheels, I don't even have step bars either that traps snow & ice in there.

  6. I learn a bit every time I watch. Thanks, and I am glad you blew out the leaves and crap from below the windshield at the end. It was making me OCD fidget seeing it there.

  7. Most oil pressure problems in those are the oil pick tube oring. I’ve done at least 30 to 40 of those things including my own I’ve had cracked pick up tubes and bad orings. Just food for thought

  8. Nothing wrong with the oil system….Idle @ 40 psi and driving @ 52 to 55 psi…..That's what my Blazer w/ a 5300 engine shows….Use a high quality 5W30 Synthetic, Mobil 1 or similar…..and a WIX EP or NAPA Platinum filter….These filters have superior thick cotton / synthetic fiber filter media which is 100% better than a paper media filter. Change oil @ 5000 to 6000 Mi Max….sooner if 'yer using the vehicle in high stress or dirty dusty conditions…..

  9. I have a 2010 Avalanche with the same engine and 146k miles.. I've had the oil pickup tube replaced 2x. Oil changes every 5500 miles using Full synthetic oil. And for my Chevy the average oil pressure i get is about 20psi at idle and 40 psi under load… there are times it will literally drop so low that the warning light comes on telling me to shut down the engine due to low oil pressure. Not 1 mechanic where I live can figure it out… ( theres only 3 to start with lol )… But we did all the same checks as you… we cut and checked oil filter for metal or debris ( normal results for that ) had oil tested ( normal results also ). Im stumped… other than running a heavier oil I have no ideas.

  10. The guy down the road had a big dozer and he was digging up a huge tree stump and he pushed a ver large stump over it’s side and ran the machine over to the house for lunch and when came back he could not find the twins and looked out in the field and saw that stump had fill back up and jumped his machine and stood the stump back over and found his twin boys under the stump and both were dead. Now that’s really bad .

  11. Hi ray awesome video on oil pressure and excellent helper from wife and baby as always you and your families be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸

  12. 0:33 – Huzzah! My closest look yet at the copper/metallic brown Toyota! Could it be… a Cressida? I had forgotten all about the Cressida.

(I don't know why I do this, I don't even like Toyotas. But I respect them. Had a gal long ago who had a similar-vintage Corolla and it just plain worked.)
