As she faces potential prison time on cyber libel charges, the co-founder and CEO of the independent Philippine news site Rappler tells FRONTLINE how she’s preparing, discusses her reporting on Duterte, and says that her conviction about what she does is undaunted: “All it has done is to make us stronger in our intent to continue to hold government to account…â€

I am a Filipino. And most of the people can tell she is a queen of fake news. Only on this present government we the common filipino people have seen real changes. Our president has more than 80% on SWS survey. That means only less than 10% of Filipino people believes with this lady and the rest is undecided. Not a surprised for most of the filipinos she's convicted of Cyber-libel crime.

How credible is she? Amidst an ongoing libel case, She just bold-facely gave a an inaccurate & grossly overblown account of ABS-CBN shutdown, claiming that 11mllion employees lost their jobs. That's 1/3 of the entire population of Metro Manila.
Frontline & the western media should do more of its own UNBIASED research, rather than rely entirely on Maria Ressa's self-serving narrative.
The cyber libel law was passed during the previous president Aquino's time. And people, including a jounalist from Davao were earlier charged & convicted under this law. WHY HAVEN'T THESE GUYS COMPLAINED OR RAISE OBJECTION AGAINST THIS LAW DURING AQUINO'S TIME? And ironically, during that time, it was Duterte himself, then mayor of Davao, who supported the court challenge against this law, albeit unsuccessfully when the supreme court headed by Aquino's appointee affirmed it.
