I'm not here to diss Snap-On (I have my eyes on one of those digital torque + angle Torque Wrenches Snappy sells) but I do own that HF torque wrench you have haha. It works good, I like the nice click, and in the mid range (Around 60-100) it's pretty darn accurate, last I checked mine it was only off by about 1 ft/lb give or take.
Lots of HF stuff is ok. But when you work with the tools all day, for 10 hours a day (like I do) you want tools that are more than just "ok"
What does it matter what brand it is if it gets the job done I don’t care who’s name is on the tools Ray you could make your own tools and still get the job done!
Old saying, " it's a poor man who blames his tools for a poor job " .tools don't make a competent technician. P.S. one third of my tools were Snap On, Matco, Mac, and Cornwell, one third Craftsman, and the rest, Proto, Harbor Freight, Meridian tool, and Steve's Wholesale. As well as various swap meets and pawn shops.
As long as you get the job done who cares what you use…..
Trolls are always wrong. Not sure why.
Nothing wrong with having harbor freight tools, doodley doodley dooo
Since I've been watching for awhile, I recognize the tools you mainly use in your past videos. Quite a bit of duplicate tools in all those drawers.
All my HF torque wrenches are not working or out of calibration. They didn't last long. I replaced them all with leviton ones from Amazon. Even one, maybe two is questionable. I need a torque tester calibrator.
Kind of snobbish Ray. Tool shaming people with your tool wealth and horded treasure
Wonder what he has in tools money wise?
by my calculations and the growing inflation, thats about a trillion dollars in tools right there. Lol
I hope Mrs. Rainman Ray doesn't see this video. You'll have a hard time justifying any more tools after documenting every penny you've spent on your craft…. looks like you've got all of them. Every. Single. Tool.
People would literally poop their pants if they knew how much money Ray has in/on thos three toolboxes.
well i think it really sad that james c thought trying to shame ray about his tools when he himself might even have better named tools and have no clue how to use them or more likely a sad little troll who gets off by trying to upset others sad so sad ray you have more talent in your little finger than this troll keep up the good work
It doesn't even matter. They can be walmart brand. He is a good mechanic. What the hell does anyone else car what he uses. I'm not a mechanic but I use whatever is in my price range. (Granted it's not my job or I'd get better quality stuff) but whatever he uses that works for him doesn't affect anyone else.

While quality of tools may matter, what tools you use are your choice and preferances trump name
That is a sweet set of tools!
I'm not a mechanic but I'm a home remodeler that has tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools I do buy name brand tools that I can afford but when I was young I was told to buy the best tool you can afford and to not put anything on finance
I bought harbour freight 1/2 impact sockets 25 $ 10 years i havnt broke one yet . Mind you i do have tons of snap on. Snap on swivel 3/8 ratchet is best ever. Cheers ðŸºðŸº
Ray don’t let these dummy’s get under your skin , your the man and there just jealous of your mad good skills . Thanks for great content
I was working out of my friend's toolbox while I was helping him at his shop and I saw he had a ton of brokens from Shapon, some from Maco, and some from Harbor Freight. I thought he had my friend had a lot of brokens from Snapon because that was mostly what he had for tools but I later found out after he told me that the Snapon replacement really sucks. I told him I would get all his stuff warrantied and he said "good luck". I called Maco and told them I had some brokens and they sent a guy out the next morning and had every tool that needed replacing in stock and warrantied them right there. I took the Pittsburgh stuff back to Harbor and they replaced it and not only that they replaced the whole set. The one Craftsmen rachet that was broken Lowes replaced it right there. The Snapon truck would come around once a week to his shop so I have all the tools together to give to him and that is when everything went bad. The Snapon guy was not happy to see I had all these brokens and that he now had to replace them. He told me to leave the tools with him and that he would get them taken care of. I said I would wait so he handed them back to me and said to make a list of what I wanted to replace and he would see me the next week, I didn't understand because he just got there. So I did what he asked and waited but he did not come back for three weeks. I saw him on the 3rd week with my list and he was not happy. He told me to wait while he helped the guys who came in after me. After an hour I had to get back to work and once he saw I was not there waiting he took off but I waved at him to stop but he did not. Another week later I tried again and he was not happy at all and was giving me a hard time, he only had two of the replacements and said he would get the rest. Three months later he had four more of the tools I needed to be replaced. I asked him to please get this done for me. Two months later three more tools, and so on. In the meantime, the Maco guy started coming to the shop every week and he got the job done fast. I see now why my friend gave up on the Snapon tools. I have heard this same situation play out over and over from other shops and I can not understand why they would keep putting up with this other than to say "I have Snapon so I know what I am doing". I have Craftsmen, some Maco, and Harbor freight and it works as well as any of my friend's way overpriced Snapon, so don't waste your hard-earned money on Snapon and their wonderful warranty waiting period and kind service.
My general rule-of-thumb for HF is the less moving parts or circuitry it has, it’s going to preform just fine in a shop. The test equipment (mostly electrical like the dmm) isn’t accurate enough to properly diagnose a vehicle, but as long as you don’t impact the chrome sockets, and I’m guilty of this myself, you’ll be fine. I am impressed with the Icon line, excluding the torx bits. The pry bars bend, the flex-head ratchets tend to loosen up to the point where they don’t stay straight, and the hammers chip too much, but as far as wrenches and sockets go, I don’t have much to complain about
Workingman box outstanding collection
Mechanics with tools are like women with handbags. They get so insulted someone claims that they bought the generic brand. They paid for the luxury brand and everyone better know it. Does a hermes bag carry lipstick any better than a coach bag, or a 2 lb snap on hammer hit harder than a 2 lb harbor freight hammer?
it's obvious this passed you off, but I believe you gave him both barrels!
Ray, I see you have spent a lot of time on the "paycheck collection" truck. ðŸ˜
Have you seen the snap on 3/4" -1" adapter. I believe it's a torque multiplier. Got it from uncle who was diesel mechanic.
I'll never diss a man by the amount spent on the tools. It's about how good of a technician he is. A wrench is a wrench. Knowing how to and when to use it is all the game.
