  1. Great video.. just a thought though.. while the intake is off, always check the blom bolt torque.. the factory leaves them loose often!! Kudos for the entertainment aka sanity maintenance..

  2. C5 corvette is more Dificult to remove that that one and with the socket and swivel i change it two times takes just 20 minutes if you never ever try you never going to know good video anyway for those who want to work hard and not smart😂

  3. Older 454 can be done with a 3/8 reduced to 1/4 on an oil socket, hard reach under the distributor but beats removing the intake, also helps to have a topside creeper😊

  4. With a small amount of editing this video could be 1/2 the length. We don’t need to see each bolt pulled, and each injector wire removed. One of each would be just as instructional.

  5. I always remove it without taking off the intake save my customers hundreds and they always hire me afterwards and recommend me so much better for business than selling them work it doesn’t need

  6. Somebody's getting paid by the hour and not by the job… You most definitely do not have to take apart the intake manifold to change out that sensor. The proper socket, swivel, and extensions and you can have that sensor replaced in 20 minutes flat

  7. I've replaced like 30 oil pressure sensors I've never removed An intake manifold on any LS based engine. It's really not that bad it's about 5 minutes. Stop doing it that way.

  8. I became a pro with the 1500 and 2500, have a avalanche myself and love to work on it, I have rebuild the transmission the transfer case and the front differential boy am I tired

  9. One little thingy yah maybe coulda done is check how tight the Vlomy bolts were while you were in!! But love the vid bro! 👍😂

  10. should've checked those valley cover bolts. They get loose and that's part of the reason those AFM lifters fail. There's pressurized oil ways under there for the AFM. which I'm sure you know. I'm a machinist and we never use compressed air around our lathes and mills because it tends to just push the crap into the machines.

  11. It's not too difficult to remove intake on these
And it gives chance to update intake manifold gaskets to metal one🤷
And lets you inspect the valves for buildup and check the valley bolts torque 😳
And and clean out the throttle body real good
    And and the manifold to🤷
Or could skip all that get in there with a boroscope to find that sensor and struggle to get on to it with an assortment of wobbly attachments and extensions and do it in maybe half the time but not half the cursing
    But full half assery🥴

  12. I was faced with this sensor failure a few days ago. It came about because of the classic primary ground harness failing. I chose the “ go behind the intake instead of taking it off method” . It was a painful task thanks to the engineers.

  13. No need to remove the intake you can reach the sensor from top just disconnect the fuel line yes it's a little of a pain to get to the back but can be done in 15 min this way don't forget to change the screen that sits in the oil pressure sensor port you can take it out with a hook. After you did this and you still have oil pressure issues you can try to change the O ring on the oil pick-up tube. If this also doesn't work especially by engines with 200k miles or more you can change the Oil Pump for a high volume Melling Pump this will solve all the issues. How do I know well because I did it several times.

  14. holy crap – talk about going around your ass to get to the hole…goess the next class is on "how to fix and intake manifold leak on a 5.3l…lol

  15. Why is it…the trucks keep getting taller and wider yet there's less room under the hood to work on things? You now need a skyhook just to check the oil!
I miss the days when I enjoyed doing maintenance in my truck.
