musty you look pretty dusty working on krusty, body shop humor. lol
Do you have more video of the crew cab project? I have a 1970 crew cab, now in progress.
I use an old kitchen metal colander to sew it all over hrough and use sandblasting stuff over and over. Works pretty well. That was a cool Video. Lots of good knowhow you shared. And the result is awesome👌👌👌
The soundeffects on this Video is superb 😅👌👌ssqeeek squeeeeek
The FIRST rule of dent removal: Work in BABY STEPS !!!
Unfortunately, there's a FINE LINE between "Patina" & junk !!!
Very teadious work with a hacksaw blade doing body lines. Hammering out "Battle Scars" just as bad !!!
WTF? mustie doing real restoration? this must be fake
Casualties of persuasion !!!!!! i love it !!!!!!
Mustie, where was your hat this time ha ha but nice work from a life long body man.
What ever happened to the Econoline? Just curious.
Nice job, what I learned from an old furniture sprayer was; after the paint job, take the sprayer totally apart and put the whole thing in a wire mash and submerged it into enough thinner. put a lid on it and let it in the thinner till you need the gun again. Fill the gun with some clean thinner and spray the last dirty thinner out.
You never lay panels on the concrete floor and spray them, it kicks up all the crud off the floor onto the paintwork
Is this the same vehicle tha you got some parts from the Westfalia that you had in the backyard,I remember you were fixing a crew cab, but you got parts out if your stash, now that is a vehicle you don*t see very often, you see buses campers 21 windows, Microbus, but a crew cab, you hardly see it awesome job, waiting for it to be finished.
Looking good sir god bless and keep you and yours safe
make a good few daily drivers to sell, then sell them.
I think you do good work god bless you and yours and be safe
Sir my name is gordon stearns i use to live in westfield mass 12 miles from Springfield but I live in Florida 32205 zip
Lookin a bit Dustie Mustie.
Looks great even in primer
I've never seen a double cab before……. Cool
Get the bed sprayed with Linex. Well worth it.
It doesn't look bad…. it's awesome like that I think and if you going to use the truck for a truck then what the hay…. talking about the bed….
Idk why mustie would even bother with that….. unless he is trying to restore it and he's not trying to 100% restore it….
A bit late to the party. Really like the old VW’s. I was offered a early 1970’s beetle but turned it down as I was 17 and stupid! I’m now 54 and would love to own one
You should try some heat when bending out the floor!
Okay so, it's half way through 2020. Is the double cab finished? Please finish it and make more videos. Thanks! You're the best.
where do the breather lines from the gas tank run ?
I think you're in New Hampshire right now we're going through coronavirus but after it's over if you want some help with body work just let me know
Primer will not stop moisture from getting to the metal it will re rust if you put it outside in primer
You cannot coate it again unless you block it with 320 sandpaper rubber block
Polyester putty is made to go over primer
Mix the primary really thick sprayed on the back of the bed and use the primer to fill in the uglies
Did you know the sandblast is nothing but coal dust from the coal fired electric generator plant in Manchester
Wavy gravy after you put it in primer you Spackle light coata different colored primer over the body work and then block send it and it'll show you the waves
looks like my allied porta power I got when I was about 17
Perhaps a bit of rhino hide on the bed of double trouble seal the water out of the lower deck
Mustie1 I see you've been watching those hair infomercials. 4:11
Looks really nice
Looks good I've had to do some of that intricate work too it was pretty tough but we made out ok
That's great paint for the project. If nothing else you've saved it from future rot .. and maybe someone down the line can do more with it. How many Haggerty vids have we seen where guys dream of huge projects .. and then cars just rot in the field to rot beyond repair. Great Job from a neighbor in Maine !
your hair looks like its coming back in. i need some of that
Must've. Are you going to sell that little air compressor?
If you put peace of copper flat pipe behind your plug weld it will be flat no clean up
This is one of you're keepers right? I love the look of that body style because I don't remember seeing a lot of the utility VW buses when I was a kid even though I grew up around Pittsburgh.
It's hard to imagine this particular truck selling for 15 thousand dollars, let alone 20k. It's not your work, it's the truck. WHO would pay 20k for this truck? Who would pay 15K? It's a work truck that can't be used as a work truck.
Great job!!!
Is Arc welding hard to learn? I suspect your governed by what metals will bond to each other?
