  1. i changed that top mount on my engine myself in no time bugt it still makes the ghrinding noise it didn't change at all. i have been told its my shitty struts that are making the car sit lower than it should and causing the terrible grinding noise

  2. I have taken my car to the shop 3 times because my car grinds like that when it’s cold, but once it warms up it goes away, had the axle replaced( torn boot) and needed brakes calipers, and pads. But they could never find the noise, watched this video and went out to my car, same mount, looked tore( not as bad as that one) but I get the noise more when I’m turning to the right, and accelerating. It’s starting to do it alittle bit when I’m turning to the left also, guessing because the engine is shifting, making it rub more on one side more than the other. I was convinced my transmission was going bad, but I’m really hoping I can fix it with a simple engine mount.

  3. In the Volvo community we call that the torque bar, if that goes out then you pretty much need to replace the rest of the motor mounts, there is another one directly below that. If the one below it goes out you will hear a grinding noise when you let off the gas. Also don't forget the pcv system, it's on the top of the motor behind the oil cap. It will cause a high pitch squeal.

  4. Was going to pick this up as my first car, but thinking of sticking with Japanese options instead since anything else doesn't seem very reliable.

  5. Can tell you why that mount had probably been replaced while broken. Customer authed repairs. Came to pick up the vehicle and had no money. "Ok. I'll just put the old shit back in and you're free to take it". How it works.

  6. The job is that car had deferred maintenance by all the issues that showed up on your computer screen or diagnostic screen if you want to call that you might have another name but the bottom line is that was the easiest motor mount I've ever seen replace or ever have replaced so why they didn't do the rest of the work is beyond me I know you can handle it maybe it'll come back I hope

  7. As a Volvo owner a couple of things: doors will unlock just by having the key on your person as will the engine turnover. No need to insert or use the buttons.
My trunk was stuck too. Turned out to be a fuse.
I believe that is the wrong coolant. My S80 and S40 use the blue.
Thanks for showing me the motor mount thing. I am better off now.

  8. yo my explorer is making this noise. It also shakes like the first time i touched a boob, so safe bet, i've not been able to locate it but.. its coming from an undisclosed location under the engine. I thought maybe a manifold heatshield or something but my rip off doctors stethoscope said no.

  9. It's likely that the lower torque damper is missing, on those early 2010 3.2s they didn't come with them. The mounting brackets are still there and are quite easy to put in.
