Seventy years ago, Allied troops invaded Germany and liberated Nazi death camps. They found unspeakable horrors which still haunt the world’s conscience. FRONTLINE presents the world broadcast of a 1945 film made by British and American film crews who were with the troops liberating the camps. The film was directed in part by Alfred Hitchcock and was broadcast for the first time in its entirety on FRONTLINE.

  1. I've never seen this. My heart hurts. My stomach is sick.
People are sick comparing this to anything else. Or trying to justify "that it was Only the Jews" NO. It wasn't. It was anyone those psycho's wanted to hurt. Hitler literally released the jails to harm these people! Now I know why people say "unblur it" bcuz. 😢 I just lost my mom and couldn't fathom having her thrown into a pit like that! NO MATTER WHO IT IS! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙏🏻😢❤️
Also what happened on the East side after liberations was sad too😢

  2. How about we talk about wat the UK did to the first nations ppl of australia or dont they count as humans buddy?
And would you like me to keep going as they n the US have done many many bad things ..

  3. Hats off for NOT censoring this very informative/instructive video! In high school (1960-63), I started the international relations club in my senior year and made an arrangement with a US army center in Portland, ME to provide me with reels of WW II footage to show club members, this video included. My purpose was to convey to my classmates vividly what can happen when people fail to monitor the direction their government takes. Given what I see now, I do not think this species has learned very much. (date of this post: 2 January 2026)

  4. Benjamin Netanyahu and his IDF Forces are doing the same things to the Palestinians today. Apparently some people haven't learned a damn thing from the Holocaust.

  5. Why were they dragging and swinging the dead bodies? Had they any respect for the dead? The bodies should have been place on the trucks and gently lowered into the pits. How would they feel if their mother, father, son, or grandson's body was tossed about like that.

  6. That isn Part of the Western allies fault also… the Germans did try to deport them and nobody wanted them…. That's what was called the final solution…

  7. The world is new for those born after this carnage!! … Those born in the 40s, 50s and 60s were taught about the dangers of Nazi and Communist ideology! But those born in the 70s till today have not been taught how horrible these ideologies are!! And now the idealogy of Marxism/Communism is being taught in public schools, colleges and universities!! Hate America is a strategy of Marxism!!

  8. Degrading, belittling, horrid. How could they do this to souls made by the Father. Channel 5 always had films like this in the 1960's. It was horrible then. Can't form words now!!

  9. Hey! What? Narrator says 6 million died in camps, with 3 million being Jewish. Now a days the numbers are consistantly being reported as 12 million killed in camps with 6 million being jewish? Which is correct?

  10. My wonderful grandfather was captured in Dunkirk
Spent the most of the war in a P.O.W. Camp.
He and his fellow colleagues… that he was life long friends with all said that German soldiers and camp guards where kind and friendly and helped whenever they could.
It was the bastards in the Black uniforms that they all feared.

  11. 12/2025 the loudest silence I’ve ever heard…I’ve read countless books on the holocaust watched endless documentaries but this is by far the best. The worst of mankind…I will never understand this kind of evil.

  12. World leaders and general members of societies appeared to have learned nothing from these atrocities. United States authorities and others in its society continued to commit crimes and human rights abuses against Black people and other minorities. Not long after the Holocaust and WW2, British troops committed horrible crimes against Kenyans— rape of both men and women, forced labor, seizing land, and other abuses. Now, America is becoming a Fascist country. Like the song says, "What have we learned? Apparently nothing."

  13. This left me wordless 😢. How can human race be so heartless, so cruel. I’m Mexican but this breaks my heart, so many souls suffer for some ideology so pointless. My heart with all these souls. Heartbreaking 💔.

  14. Opening remark.. British and American film crews entered nazi death camps…no they didn't, western allies never set foot in death camps, these were only allegedly in Poland and only the Russians had access. Take this with a pinch of salt.
