  1. Is true If i buy an ecu from ebay new they ask for vin number on the windshield can it be reprogram so when they ship all I do is installing and works. Cause I had the same issue I replaced all brand new canister system and I couldn't put gas 😂 anyone

  2. I learned something today! It's a good day! I didn't know that the ECM in a vehicle had to go through that to be replaced. Thanks for taking us through that procedure. And, as always, your excellent diagnostic procedures…a pleasure to watch.

  3. The new ECU will be programmed from factory with the correct firmware, so that's why it's able to communicate and function out of the box.
I think what needs copying over are the specific calibration values for that particular car.

  4. I was going to ask how much for the magic box. Interesting it's more of a service and not a box. $50/mo and $125 per usage. (It looks like it's a cell connected tablet with OBD-II connections and special sauce software. "RAP2 programmer"

  5. 18:17 Sounds like they were ready to throw the customer in jail for VIN fraud or something. 😆 👮 🚓 I see that you basically had to sign your life away on that tablet.

  6. Very good diag proving the Ecm Failed and fried the vent solenoid by hooking the un programed ecm back up to see if regular functions work before programming and showing the ground side switches off the ecm @Rainman Ray's Repairs

  7. Do you ever follow the instructions in the service literature? None of your testing was even remotely valid. The generic test for an evap leak is to use a smoke machine to introduce smoke into the system, then close the vent, and look for flow indication and visible leaks. You have spent a large amount of your customers hard earned money, and you have never leak tested the system. If your employer were to start deducting the cost of these misdiagnosis's from your pay, maybe you would be motivated to learn how to properly do your job. Another epic fail.

  8. As usual great diagnostic Raymond and I like the way you did a double check to make sure that the ECM was not functioning properly and I just thrown apart in it the valve that was sent that was stuck open and burned up hey as usual great job really appreciate it you inspired me I'm going to get some work done on my back next week and I just want you to know you inspired me I put an alternator in my car today in an hour in a parking lot but hey man you got an old man going thank you very much hey have a great evening I appreciate everything you do

  9. This ECM reprogramming procedure is ridiculous. If I can install a far more complex operating system such as Windows on a far more complex computer with nothing more than a flash drive and keyboard, ECM programming should at least be able to be done locally on a laptop with some OBD scan software. Regardless, your skills are impressive and teach so many valuable lessons. Keep up the good work!
