But, the van WAS a classic. 25 years old and a candidate for total restoration. If an AMC Gremlin can pull bucks.
My 1997 has 58,000 and has been in a garage when not on the road. I fainted, but am back up now. lololoolol Thx for sharing from Wyoming
Is it possiblei if a 2003 ford expedition has this problem and you start the car that it could throw a blinking over drive light.and then gt a p0705 code?
I had to replace those bushings on a 97 Ford. It wasn't to bad. But I never thought about trimming the plastic. I'll keep that in mind next time ðŸ‘
I'm with you Ray 💯…gotta do what ya gotta do 😎
Would it not be great if Design engineers had an insight to post delivery maintenance
Would it not be great if Every service station had such a competent mechanic as Ray
I know this video was posted a year ago. I just found it. I am all for saving a customer money where possible. I commend you for having the customer in mind!
You could have made it shiny.
2:40….A little Dejavue??? or just a fortune teller.
Half the shops would charge the hours out and do exactly what he did anyhow, as if a customer is going to tear their car apart to that extent… if so they would have done the job themselves
REEEEEEEEEEEE!! LOL 😀
Finally proof that someone thinks of the other guy rather than themselves. You rock Ray!
I would trade cutting the plastic I would never see or know was there to save $400. Glad you used the zip ties learned a trick!
It's like making my mother-in-law ride in the back seat I only wish some uses duck tape was legal.
was it just me or did the main clock (you know, the speedo) did not move
If only all mechanics could be honest like ray
Too many people spending too much time worrying about what other people think. If you’re right roll with it, now if somebody else’s opinion puts money in your bank account then listen otherwise bah fung goo
A lottle araganr arr we?
I drop the steering column.
Yyeeaahhh, I'm not upset about breaking some plastic. The hack jobs I've done on my vehicle would make even you wince
We NEED more mechanics like you in my area bunch of thieves up here in NW Indiana
Very very good job and keep up the good work
Only thing I would do differently would be to Dremel two holes to extract the torx screws or Dremel cut the section so that the rotten plastic doesn't shatter.
This is a common issue on all fords with a 3 ON The Tree Style Shifter even all the way up to 2010 @Rainman Ray's Repairs
You absolutely did the right thing .
There's a button on that switch if you would have pushed that down all the way and then pulled out on the switch it would have come all the way out
Cough cough cough
Oh you ought to move to Texas like Waco, Hillsboro Texas, OR Phoenix Arizona where it's really hot
Good plan!
I would LOVE i repeat LOVE to have ray work on my car but as I live close to 1500 miles away in maine its impossible to do. so thats that
I have a little bitty ratchet that slides down over the bit.
This was a rolling repair, not a frame-up restoration. Great 'shortcut' Ray!
