  1. Dexcool has this amazing ability to indicate when somebody really, really doesn't care about vehicle maintenance. It goes from perfectly fine coolant to corrosive gasket eating scourge long after it really should have been replaced, then when really really neglected, the coolant along with everything it's consumed starts turning into this primordial ooze like soupy Play-Doh. If you leave it for long enough, I suspect it becomes self aware.

  2. Ray what drug you into the wanderful world of auto repair? My father was a mechanic and mom said i was born with a set of pliers in my mouth i took apart everything from the time i could walk im 61 proud to say. you are so much like myself just a damn good line mechanic ive also did the dealership chevy, datsun, dodge but just wanted my own shop

  3. I wish I could add a pic to this comment. I used to own a 00 Jimmy, throttle cable got stuck and we went for a roll around the next turn. My son was 3 at the time and the only part of the truck that wasn't caved in on itself was where he was sitting.

  4. Total flashback to when I had my 2000 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition.
Same problem on both leaking manifold and constant reoccurring coolant sludge.
Plus I didn't care for the power to displacement ratio.
4.3L should be capable of putting out greater than 200 hp when there's 4 cylinder engines that put out equal or greater power to displacement.
    I had a 2004 Celica GT-S with a 1 8L that was 180 hp.

  5. I vaguely remember the JIMMY. This has to rank very high on the list of worst designed engine bays. However it makes you look like a genius!

  6. you might want to invest in a wind shield for your microphone (audio guys have some funky nickname for it, can't remember). I don't know what you're filming on, but if you're just using the integrated mic on your phone or camera, you can get inexpensive and unobtrusive muffed mics from sennheiser and rodes – they just plug into the audio jack and are pretty small, no wires or faff

  7. I had a really easy time flushing my dex cool out of my blazer…. bottom half of the water pump gasket rusted out so i put like 15 gallons of water through it in a week before i could fix it. No more dex cool.

  8. I had a pair of those clamp pliers on the farm for decades and almost threw them away until I saw what they were for on this channel.

  9. Hey Ray, quick easy tip, any time your dealing with rubber hoses, take some silicone spray and hit it quick, makes all the difference in the world trying to take off any hoses.
