In this video we do a basic ignition tune up on a Subaru 2.5 EJ engine. It consists of just replacing the plugs and plug wire. It is a really simple task and can be done easy at home with the correct tools. -Enjoy!

  1. My first one I used a small, 3/8” drive Universal adapter to remove and replace #4 plug. It was easier than I thought it’d be.

  2. Subarus are pure garbage…but they always keep a shop in business! None of my GMs, including my Sierra, have ever had carbon tracking. But cars I've owned and fixed and sold that had plugs with the ribs on them had carbon tracking before.

  3. I have heard you mention Champion spark plugs. my Father and I have had terrible experiences with Champion plugs in the passed.. DAD barely made it back home. me i could not find out why my Buick wouldn't start…But When I pulled off the spark plug Boot I knew what the problem was.. put in AC's and problem fixed… I even done an expertise.. … I put in old 50,000 mile Autolite's in my 68 charger i built. .and done a test run. .then put in a new set of Champions and ran again. .I noticed a notable loss of HP with the Champions…threw them in the trash and got new Autolite….i wish it was easier to buy plugs for small engines.. everything is better than Champion plug..

  4. I have to yank the battery on my 2009 Forester to access the plugs on the driver's side. First time I changed the plugs: 1.5 hours. I can do it in 40 minutes now. Two small extensions and a ratchet. It is a tight squeeze regardless of which tools you use.

  5. If'n I had a Fawd truck that was a few years old. You know those Fawd's that had the spark plugs that were impossible to remove and seize into the luninus metal heads I would put copper coat on the threads of the plug to hell with what NGK recommends.
