  1. Can't you just add up the total gaps between the coils to determine the amount of travel? Looks like 9 coils and about 1/4" a gap so 2 1/4" total fork travel and 4 1/2" of tire travel?

  2. So a physics question is making my brain hurt. The rachet strap doubled up which immediately makes me thing that if there's 750 lbs of tension that it's actually putting 1500lbs of pull on the fork buuuut one side of that is stationary so does that side count or does it go back to being only 750……hmmmm

  3. Mustie1, Nice job on the front fender, looks like it belongs there…. American made head light, really?  Seems like everything comes from China…

  4. Really that brake plate needs a bush or bearing added at the axle then tying to the back leg of the springer using an arm with bushes (or rose joints) at each end. So it forms a near parallelogram. Look how Harley, Indian, Brough and the like did it. It takes all the braking force away from the suspension movement. If you lock the brake plate solid to the bottom link of the springer, when you apply the brake the torque action will want to extend or 'top out' the fork which will make the wheel likely to lock (even more than it does anyway on a VW based trike). If you never really use the front brake it probably doesn't matter. Thanks for posting your vids. I really enjoy them.

  5. Fender came out spot on.
With the brake brace, I'd just put it to the back fork leg.
Like the new headlight and where you want to put it. Just curious if the headlight brace is close to the rear lower triple tree, what happens if you need to lift the trike and the front fork relaxes on the headlight bracket. I'm sure you thought of it but just in case you didn't.
    She's looking awesome so far…

  6. Mustie, I have built three trikes over the years. Couple things, the headlight will be a major annoyance to oncoming traffic, it's going to need stiffened up. That springer front will never collapse all the way, not enough weight to do it. And please consider full floor boards. If you saw one of my good friends legs after he did a wheelie and his feet slipped off and went under the trike you would do it. Your doing a cool job as always!

  7. Try flipping the whole wheel assy over to have the levers on the right hand side as I think they would have been originally….brake hand lever on right hand side with cable running down to wheel and drum on the right hand side …… just a thought
