1. Ray, you never revisited the leftover blue o-ring. It's a larger 23mm o-ring that you need to install on 2022 and newer engines. You install the smaller, black 22.3mm o-ring on 2021 and older engines. The Mopar OFAs have come with two o-rings for a few years, but this must be a fairly recent change with the Dorman kit. I installed mine in our 2018 Pacifica in March 2024 and I'm certain it only came with a black, 23mm o-ring and the instructions that came with mine didn't mention two different sizes like they do now. This has never made sense to me because Chrysler used gen 2 and gen 3/PUG engines at the same time for different applications starting with the 2016 model year. The different o-ring sizes implies that the port openings for both engines is larger on ALL 2022+ engines. It is possible but seems unlikely to me that Chrysler actually started using larger ports on both engines at the same time. The Mopar instructions for the o-rings that come with their OFAs make no distinction between the two engines either.

   Also, the top sensor on the OFA is an oil temperature sensor. It was moved to the back of the right cylinder head on gen 3 engines. As a result you'd need to install the plug in the Dorman part when being installed on gen 3 engines.

2. I’d offer an oil in the 4 to 5 buck a quart range. That’s what Ford gets for their synthetic blend oil change. Just getting people to change their oil more frequently is better for the engine than going with the premium oil and ending up not getting the oil changed at all.

3. another thing, amsoil is not sold at major parts stores or walmart or costco so alot of people haven't heard of it to spend the extra money per quart on it, so if mobil 1 , valvoline and pennzoil will get you more oil changes done and makes you the money I'd go for those and put a 5000 mile sticker vs 10k mile sticker with amsoil

4. 3:55 as a consumer I would rather prefer a Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or Mobil 1 advanced full synthetic or valvoline R&P premium full synthetic and any of these will come down to less than $8 a quart, amsoil might be the best and greatest but at $12 a quart is no go, Project Farm listed the PUP as the next best oil after amsoil and that has been my go to oil with a good wix filter or oem

5. 3:50 yes you need to get them in the door with the lowest package, use Lake Speed to get results and use your vehicle with the better package and then you just upsell to your desired level

6. 1:01:15 you talked about how you can't tighten down the screws into the plastic to spec but why don't you back off the screw till it drops into the thread cut before to save cutting a new thread causing extra wear?

7. Hey ray. I think your looking it the wrong way…..after changing the oil cooler it is very likely the oil is going to become contaminated, the oil change has to do be done to proctect the life of the engine. Then offer the customer what oil change packages you have.

9. Offer an alternative like Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, or some decent quality, middle of the road oil, price wise.

12. When it comes to oil changes I like to do my own and keep the same oil going through it. I like to check the filter and oil for flakes sparkles color and smell. I mostly do all of my work tho just did my oil cooler on my GC about a year ago to the day. If I had taken it to the shop tho idk how I could say no to the oil change unless it was because I didn't like the oil they were gonna use tho wouldn't have someone in didn't trust working on it anyways so it all leads me to say I wouldn't turn down the oil change

17. I've been so lucky and so happy with my 2013 DGC. That Pentastar engine has been one of the best engines I have ever owned. 13 years with not one issue whatsoever. Still factory sealed with all the factory accessories on it. Even still has the factory oil cooler. Which I check every month for the last 13 years cause I'm paranoid of it leaking but so far it has been bone dry. I am the only one to service this vehicle since new. I don't let anyone touch any of my cars. If anything were to happen now I really can't complain. Other than what I paid for it back in 2012 it's been a free car other than the normal maintenance I have put into it. I like it better than my Lexus. The Pentastar is stronger, quieter and very dependable than the Lexus 3.5 in my RX350. I love this video Ray. It was fun watching you do the cooler.

20. really people are saying no to 12,99 oil… im spending here almost 30 euro for 1 liter oil but then my car only need 3.8 liter oil, mayby if you cant afford the amount of oil that need to go inside your engine mayby buy a small car with a small engine. dont change your prices…thats one of many problems in this world. people complain about the prices but always point at the store's/you,, we as people did this. by complaining about so many things.. like green/eco/ev cars . animal meat ext.. if we didnt complain about how we get our meat, farmers would keep on farming and nothing would change.. if we all didnt cry about gas and diesels are bad for the world. gas/diesel would be this expensive XD but because we are people we always need to complain about ANYTHING!! we break everything in this wold.

    dont lower yours prices, cus people think you're to expensive, they want things to me almost free. just change you policy then, lets say you get warranty on the parts idk 6months?? but if anything goes wrong with oil/coolant cus you didnt want a oil change/flush no warranty at al on that
    im a mobile car mechanic i see so many times crying about the extra service that need to be done. like i dont do pad slap. for me its a compleet brake job not 50% so disk+pad per axle. if they dont want to i refurse to work on there car and they can somewhere els.

    i just think simple. i have my standards. i only deliver quality and perfection and you also do that. keep it like that. dont change for those woke people in this world

23. I would say offering the lower priced bulk full sythetic oil would probably sell a lot better. These are not high end cars and owners are only used to getting quick lube oil changes at discount prices

    A quick tip!
    Always apply threadlocker to an area 1.5 times the width of the screw diameter. Always apply it to the screw thread. Otherwise, the threadlocker will not work 100%. 😉

25. Change your oil at the manufactures suggested intervals unless they recommend anything over 5k mileage, if it’s a CBS ( condition based service ) system change your oil at 5k.

30. Those pendisaster engines, which are also in the Jeeps, are a mess. The rocker arm failures are epidemic. Chrysler should have been forced to provide a lifetime warranty on those plastic oil manifolds and rocker arms.

31. First off, add the oil change to the cost and only make it a line item on the final bill. It HAS to be done! For an older vehicle that is likely not taken care of or just nearing the end of usefulness a blend oil is probably more than enough. A lot of people go to Wallyworld because it's cheap anyway. I still change mybown because I don't trust people and I can still lay down there and do it.
    I did this on our 2018 Pacifica last year and I hate that damn thing! There was not enough feedback on the Dorman so I paid like $380 for the updated Mopar part. They had 5 in stock. If I have to do it again I will use it. I also did the plugs and pcv valve while it was apart but now I have a VC gasket or one of the sensors on top leaking oil! 😡
    I have been using Pennzoil UP for 10 years changed at 3-4000 in everything. Except the mower and generator, they get Amsoil. Because they don't get changed as often. Harley just gets regular 20w50. 😝

32. For the deny oil change question, the answer is two-fold. Yes, were it my business, I would offer multiple tiers – I think this would increase the "yes" count for sure. But also, a lot of the times I take my car to the mechanic, I'm doing so because the specific issue is beyond my capabilities for one reason or another. I can still change a light bulb, oil, etc. at a significantly lower cost when I get the car back home, so I would decline those sorts of offers.

33. There is Deep Purple, but I use Mobile 1. When people tell me Valvoline full synthetic, I tell them Mobile 1.
