Come along with Eric O. as we have a look at this retired cop car (Ford Crown Victoria) that was towed in for a “No Start, No Crank.” We also find out quickly that it is a no communication with the PCM also. What will it be!? -Enjoy!

I had a 2008 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and the horn didn't work. Went through the fuses in the passenger compartment and under hood, never did figure it out, ended up selling it. It was a rust bucket. Glad to be rid of it.
NOW I have a 2011 CVPI with zero rust
But I sure can understand who hard it is to find an electrical issue with these cars after the police equipment has been cut out
I respect you showing your method through it's entirety
Im surprised you computer doesnt know if its a crown vic or marquis. Crown vics start with 2FAB wheres the mercury starts with 2MEL
Engine runs like a sewing machine
Thanks, I have a '98 MGM so anything I see on a panther car catches my attention. I just went from one end of mine to the other catching up on maintenance (120k) and replacing a Blown(for Real) intake. Its never had a code since Ive owned it. Had the battery disconnected and I got the p1000 code. It took about 600 miles to clear it. Thank You for all of your efforts.
Panther cars get better every year. They age like fine wine.
That, was awesome… and Hilarious 👠people’s cars 🤣
MOST USEFUL VIDEO OF ANYTHING IVE EVER SEEN IN YOUTUBE. You were missing a fuse a the CJB to supply power to the BJB for relay coil power, while we found a break in that same wire. Layed a garbage over lay (its a cheap beater) and WHABAM we have a car that starts and runs
The interceptor takes off after 70mph was pretty good highway car before the hemi came back 🙂
Hello can anybody tell me about my 2001 crown Victoria it was raining hard my car was driving good when I got to my location the car shut off I crank it few times didn't start fuel pump has pressure battery is new that drained out I got pulled next day I took battery to charge at 90 percent put it on my car it turned on good drove about a block and turned off again crank it 3 times battery drain out again alternator is new what can it be please let me know
I would put a new rust free fuse on there to avoid any possible heat creating resistance. Maybe apply some dielectric grease as well.
Hi i own a 2004 ford crown vic and i am having a problem with it the problem is that he starts perfect but sometimes it doesn't starts at all but if i let it stand for 1 hour or so it starts again what could be the problem? I did change starter and selenoid and other pieces too but the problem is still persistent.
Always check the fuses, first. 😂😂😂
It was a fuse!
Lol
I could have said there was something up with the pcm when you put the new fuse in and turned the key, the mileage showed and after you tried to crank it the mileage went to all dashes…and then the one code in the fire suppression module that said "vin not programmed to pcm" was a dead giveaway…BUT i appreciate your in depth diagnosing despite things like that that make it so easy to see what's wrong.
As Mrs. P. is prone to say when I make a joke, "THAT IS DUMB." lol
I had a similar problem. Shop told me I needed a fuel pump and filter($800). So I said no and towed it home. Now I checked the fuses. BINGO.
I have a 2008 p71 crown and it only starts with the scanner pluged in. Unplug it and it loses all power any ideas
Great video its always easier to know the best way to find the problem once you get it fixed. its kinda like where did you find the tool you lost it was in the last place you looked every time
My 2000 crown victoria is cranking with no start, changed plugs and coils, new battery and still just cranks, it blows the 30a pcm fuse every time I crank it, any input would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: If anyone has this issue, check all your o2 sensors and make sure they aren't burnt to bare wire on the exhaust or exhaust manifold.
I wish you weren't up in New York. I'd love to have a great mechanic to go to. I'm sure there are good mechanics here but I don't know of any.
