Look how dumb this guy had made himself look several years later claiming that the USB type-C wasn't skyrocketing at the time. At the time of the s7, almost all other manufacturers had moved on to UBS-C. I remembered my s7 was the only device without USB-C port at the time. 2 years later I found myself having to carry around my own cable just because everybody was using USB-C cable and I could not borrow any of my friends to charge my phone.
Samsung was confident that the S7 would be a big success and the all-ready-outdated-at-launch-time port would not be a deal breaker and they were absolutely right. That said, claiming USB-C wasnt neccessary or "is okay" is just pure bias towards the brand.
Just a year later Samsung moved to USB C with the S8.

This phone sucks. I got the impression this was a lady killer. I upgraded from a motorola rzr that stopped ringing but this one doesnt ring either. Buyer beware! This phone does NOT come with friends.
